We had a two night break and the Belsfield and had a wonderful time. The room number 73, was a turret room facing the lake. The room was bright, airy and the view was stunning. We stayed for one night on the way to Scotland. We had a very nice room and the hotel overlooks Lake Windermere as did the room. The hotel is in a lovely setting with lovely gardens as well as the view. The dinner was excellent with very good service as was the breakfast.

My wife and I attended a crime writers' convention at this lovely hotel. As other reviewers have noted, yes, the decor is somewhat dated but we found it comfortable and relaxing. The location of this hotel is amazing and the views of the lake stunning. The hotel itself feels like it was grand at some point but now perhaps in need of some TLC and updating.
