This hotel provided fairly standard budget accommodation, but the staff are exceptionally friendly making a stay very enjoyable. It is well situated for visiting the cathedral and other sights in Durham. I thought it was a little overpriced. All over the hotel are signs saying you can book a room at Premier Inns for £29. I stayed 3 nights in this hotel and everything was good there. During check-in I was warmly welcomed, got all necessary explanations about breakfast, payment, etc. Room was clean. Premier Inns are a cheap option but provide all you need for a City break. Our room was large, with a comfortable kingsize bed, wardrobe, teamaking facilities, T.V. hairdryer and an en suite bathroom. The best thing about Durham central though, was the staff.
