This was not the first visit to this hotel and we were a little disappointed. The quality of the food was not up to the usual standard, neither was the presentation. That really is the only negative thing to say. The staff are brilliant, very friendly and efficient and many have been there for years indicating that it is a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, everything was as good as you could possibly want. It was pretty damn special to sit and eat the wonderful breakfast looking out at the fab views including the pier, sea and green. The gentleman that owns this hotel couldn't possibly do any more for us and we were very pleased with our stay.... More

Everything is old and a little bit worn out, the showers aren't very good but Dave the owner is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. The rooms are not up to the Ritz standard but I challenge you to find better value for money in Paignton. All the rooms have a great view of the bay but it... More

We keep coming back to this lovely little traditional hotel. Very comfortable and clean en suite bedrooms - some are smaller than others. The ones with the view of the green and the sea are lovely, recently modernised (even flat screen TV's) and we never have any problem sleeping each night, in spite of the hotel being on the corner... Cyril + I + our 2 border terriers have been to this hotel 5 times. Just suits us all fine. David is a super chap - most obliging. The location is unbeatable - across the road the dogs are straight on the beach + the view from the dining room is breathtaking whatever the weather.Breakfast is all you'd need. We've... More

Spent a lovely weekend at this hotel with friends participating in a group function.. Food and service in the restaurant was very good - friendly staff who were quite happy to engage in banter and who were happy to oblige when we wanted something that wasn't strictly on the menu but could be had. Happily the hotel bar prices were... More

Nice hotel, excellent location, but in winter the rooms are cold. Heating did not come on until 5.00pm. Elderly guests complained of the cold.Good food served in the restaurant and friendly staff. During my 5 night stay the ballroom was freezing at the start of an evening and later when the room heated up due to the bodies in the... More

The views over the bay are beautiful from this hotel and it is within easy walking distance to the pier, arcades, train station and numerous pubs/restaurants. Paignton is a lovely place to stay but I must agree with the other reviews that staying at the redcliff lodge was like being in an old people's home. The bedroom was musky smelling... More
