Just returned from a 3 night break at Hayes Barton. Joan and Chris are the ultimate hosts who made us, together with my dog, most welcome. A nearby park was great for early morning walks and it's close proximity to Shanklin Old Town was so convenient. The hotel is spotless and the rooms fresh and very comfortable. We had the... More

Although Rose had visited the Island before, this was also a first visit for Jenny and the absolutely gorgeous Bess, a two year old Cocker Spaniel - what a sweetheart. As dog owners ourselves, we do enjoy meeting our guests' dogs and it's quite incredible how quickly they settle into their new routines. Our own dog, Katie, is very good... More

It was a pleasure to meet Melvyn and Judy and to welcome guests who have never visited the Island before. I think people are surprised at how much there is to do - attractions catering for all ages and tastes, varying physical abilities and all kinds of weather (of which we seem to have had everything these last couple of... We have just returned from another four night break at the Hayes Barton, our second in less than six months. Excellent hospitality again from both Joan and Chris home from home! Our room was very comfortable and spotless, as was the whole guest house. We had an exceptional good value break as the deal was four nights for the price... More

We are delighted that our guests enjoyed their second stay with us and instead of bringing one set of parents, brought a sister (and her dog). We are always pleased when guests return to us but when they are prepared to bring family along as well, it is indeed a compliment. We are now looking forward to seeing them back... More

Just returned from a three night break at Hayes Barton and I have to say it was faultless as usual :) Joan and Chris are delightful hosts who made us feel at home and with 3 children that is no mean feat! The rooms were spotless and the family room offers a great family sized bathroom complete with full size... More

We were delighted to see this family again as the children are extremely well behaved and it is a pleasure to have a proper family mix of all ages visiting us. We are genuinely happy to accept families and, although we are unable to offer the facility of a swimming pool, we do have lots of games the children are... More

Having been to Hayes Barton on several occassions, we decided to spend our 25th Anniversary there. As ever the food, accomodation and hospitalitly were exceptional. Joan and Chris could not have been more attentive. Tea and biscuits on arrival, were very much appreciated after our journey. The food as ever was truly exceptional, all home cooked, with a varied menu... More

It was a pleasure to welcome back Phil and Joan and to help them celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary. We also had two birthdays being celebrated that day so it was celebrations all round. As we are a small, family run and family friendly guest house it is on these sort of occasions that we really feel that we are... More

It was kind of Don and Marion to take time to write a review on us and I was delighted to read that they praised our cleanliness, service and good breakfasts but, of course, was disappointed that they felt our evening meals were not good value for money. We offered a 4 nights for the price of 3 bed, breakfast... More

We arrived at the hotel with a lovely warm welcome and a pot of tea and biscuits which was great after our long journey. Our rooms were lovely and clean and it is worth noting that our room had a single integral room for our three year old. The rooms and shower and toilet were cleaned every day. The breakfast... More

This was our secind time holidaying at HB. I would like to say it was every bit as good this year as last year. The Staff are second to none and will go out of their way to help in any way they can. It is spotlessly clean at all times. We had dinner and breakfast and not one bad... More
