Just back from a very hot weekend in Scotland Stayed at the Stirling Highland for the first time, although we have been to other hotels in Stirling we fancied the pool and spa facilities that this offers. We loved the building and the retention of the "Old School" charm it offers. The staff were all very attentive and we had... More

We chose this hotel because we knew that many tour groups use it as a base. While they advertise that the rooms have been remodeled, it was not evident. The staff at the front desk was not helpful and gave us wrong information about the castle hours of operation. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the elevator didn't... More

Treated my wife and her friend to a pamper weekend after a health scare.Could not have chosen a better hotel. From the moment they walked in to the time they left ,they could not have been treated better.Nothing was too much trouble for Douglas ,who was a mine of information. The champagne was suitably chilled for their arrival and the beauty treatments... This hotel has lots of atmosphere being in an old private boys school. Luckily 'the tawse' is no longer employed here either.Check in was delayed because of a flood at the hotel but the staff kept us informed and joined in our 'witty' banter. They ensured our rooms were not flood damaged but we were in the flood damaged corridor.... More

Stayed here for 1 night on business. Hotel is very pleasant. It is laid out around a courtyard with the leisure club across from the main hotel. Rooms comfortable without being exciting, big flat screen tv and nice bed. Only drawback to the room was the squeaking floor but minor issue really. Ordered room service and it was very nice... More

The food is presented as a work of art, once you have got over the wonderful presentation of every dish, you then have the incredible flavours to savor. Every meal was a sensory experience. Bed, breakfast and evening meal is a very good value package. This Hotel was converted from Stirling's old High School, and still retains the observatory on... More

Kiwis on Tour Stayed at the Barcelo Stirling during our recent travels throughout the UK. Decided to stay there as a treat and was not disappointed. Room was great, clean, tidy and spacious. Buffet breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Only issue was that the Internet was not great in our room. Otherwise would recommend for that special... More

I really want this hotel to be good. It has one of the best locations in this historic town and should be flying the flag for the national tourist industry in Scotland. However, as a regular visitor to Stirling I have stayed at this hotel before and frankly it was not great so I simply stopped going. Hearing that it... More

Great location for Stirling Castle - and within walking distance from town/bars/restaurants. I didnt manage to eat at the hotel but those who did would recommend it. Bar staff attentive and went the extra mile to serve different cocktails! Check out was slow and rooms are rather average

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in October 2011 for a long weekend. We got a great deal through Living Social. I cant tell you what a great time we had. We drove down from Aberdeen, parked the car in their own car parking area and left it there. The hotel was set just below Stirling Castle a... More
