Stayed here with my partner for a short break, saw it had a pool why we booked this hotel, we went in May so thought already the pool would be open, on the brouchure the hotel looked nice, we turned up it looked run down and in a need of a lick of paint, anyway we thought lets make the... More

Dear Madam, Thank you for your comments regarding your stay during May 2011. We are sorry to hear you were unsatisfied. The outdoor swimming pool is advertised as open from Whitsun to Mid September, and it is unclear when you had stayed. We have strict opening and closing hours which adhere to health and safety policies agreed with our local... More

Hotel room rather small but bright & clean, bathroom large. Food was super, hot & plentiful. The staff were very pleasant & helpful, especially Russell. Stayed 4 nights & entertainment very enjoyable. Only problem was the STEEP hill down into & more importantly up from Saundersfoot.

Me and my family go there every year for a maximum of three nights and my nana and papa go there in the year for a week or two. We loved RUSELL!!!! We didn't care that the staff were going between the reception and the bar. All the girls loved the heated pool once we went in even when it... More

We stayed here weekend of the 17th March on a friends weekend. There were about 50 of us and we do this type of weekend twice a year. I can honestly say in the 20 years we have been doing this, this is the one of the best 2 star hotels we have stayed at. We had a room with... More

Our second visit to the Merlewood and still as good. The heated outdoor pool was our granddaughter's firm favourite. Breakfasts were very good and staff are very helpful and friendly.

We made a last minute booking after stumbling across this hotel (it's location has prime views of the bay) They staff were truly lovely, and found us a great room at a great price! The rooms were very clean and bright, exceptional en suite bathrooms were a real plus! Breakfast was a variety of hot and cold, anything from fruit... More

On top of a very steep hill, so don't go if you cannot walk easily. The views over the bay with the swimming pool in the foreground are wonderful. Food good, staff excellent. Fair sized room with plenty of hot water. Walls a little thin, so what. It didn't bother us. Recommended.

Had our usual week in Saundersfoot. Met up with some families who had been there before, so good to chat. Nice breakfasts, we stayed half board, food is good, simple menus (to our liking) Nice view over the village, and the new decking is a nice addition. Pool fresh as usual, but it all adds to the fun. Lol

We've stayed here now for the past 15 years on our summer holiday break and we love it. You read some of the reviews below and in some ways wonder what people expect!! Merlewood Hotel is a 2 star hotel (not a 5 star or chain hotel!) with a large lounge/bar area, swimming pool (which has never ever been discoloured... More
