We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. The central location caused it to be horribly noisy with people yelling out in the street until very late at night. The overall impression was of tired shabby decor and overpriced rooms and the showering facilities were inadequate. The hospitality tray was poor and left much to be desired. The breakfast buffet looked... More

This was, for the price, ninety pound a night, overpriced. The couple who ran it where freindly and welcoming but the place itself was very disapointing. We asked for a double but got two single beds pushed together. The beds themselves where very lumpy. The bathroom itself was ok if a bit cramped. The shower gel was in a bottle... More

Very warm welcome, offered hot drinks on arrival, good attention to detail: bathrobes, home made cookies, sweets, nice clean bedding, en suit was lovely and large. Breakfast was very enjoyable and had lots of choice. it's on a main road so there is traffic noise but soon got used to it. I highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay again,... More

I was staying with a relative in Pickering but had booked in to the Hotel for Sunday Lunch. I have rarely had such a Sunday lunch. We were personally greeted on arrival and given a table in the small lounge. We ordered drinks and were able to look at the menu at our leisure. The drinks arrived and our order... More

Reception warm and friendly. The attention we had throughout was just what we needed - there when necessary and otherwise unobtrusive. Room very comfortable with all we could have wished for. Breakfast could be a blow-out (which we could not have faced) or selections could be made. Pauline was very accommodating to my wife's preferences and I could not resist... More

The OK - Location - central location situated on a busy roundabout so slightly noisy, The not so good - Old rooms everything double painted including the light switches.Very cluttered with no real sense of purpose, some people may like but personally difficult to keep clean which leads to the next - bathrooms the cardinal sin.....hairs all over the place and... If you want Travelodge style accommodation then this is not for you. If you want freindly personal service with individual homely rooms and one to one dervice and attention then this is the place. The food is wonderful as are the hosts.

Very disappointed with the decor in the hotel. Everywhere was cluttered and over the top in the lounge area and very dull and dark. In the rooms, the shower was non existent. Very little water and it was always cold. Also there was no central heating in the rooms till after 8am in the morning so we always woke up... More
