My wife and I have just returned home from a marvellous weekend get-away to the Provence: just 15 minutes south of Hobart. D'Entrecasteaux and our hosts, owners Sheryl and John Bullock, exceeded all expectations: what a jewel of a find! The property is unique and in impeccable condition. Our room was spacious, well appointed and featured a claw-foot bathtub with... More

We arived at this property with the intent to relax and we did. The open fire place going, siiting reading and occationally gazing into the roraring flames what a way to spend the afternoon. Service was casual, very friendly but also very professional the perfect hosts. Breakfast and dinner were to die for, very simple food but extremely well cooked... More

An absolutely 'exclusive' gem! From driving through the gates of this French provincial themed hotel, the chateau, gardens, accomodation, meals and service could not be faulted in any way. it was our second choice after finding the Henry Jones Art Hotel fully booked for our 1st night in Hobart on a tour of Tasmania, and we were not at all... My husband and I stayed one night for dinner, bed and breakfast. We loved our room( No 6 from memory) and loved the location. We chose to have them cook dinner( pre arranged) as we like to experience things we may not have chosen ourselves and this was perfect. Grilled sardines, duck with le puy lentils and cherry clafoutis...all very... More

D'entrecasteaux looked fabulous on the website and had great reviews so we decided to treat ourselves to some luxury. We were disappointed to find that it was quite ordinary and feel that we wasted our money. The rooms looked pretty but had no fridge, no airconditioning and it was hot and stuffy because the balcony door kept blowing shut. If... More

My husband & I stayed in this most beautiful boutique hotel for two nights. From the moment we entered the wrought iron gates we knew we were in for an amazing stay. Anthony, Belinda & Priscilla have recently taken over the management however they are more like hosts than management & this made our stay even more relaxed & special.... More

After reading reviews on this site, my wife and I decided to book this hotel for a night as part of a short getaway. We put out trust in the two reviews we had read, and were glad we did, as it was so incredibly special. In fact this experience was the absolute highlight of our whole trip to Tasmania!... More

Delightful place with delightful hosts in a delightful part of Tasmania. If the weather had been warmer we'd have honestly believed we were in Provence. Indoor pool, gardens, conservatory, reading room, library, villa and chateau room accomodation. This place has it all. More

I had one night at this relatively new boutique hotel on the outskirts of hobart, and could not believe what a hidden gem I had found! Pulling in through the gate's you feel that you could be visiting friends in a private chateau in the South of France. The grounds are imaculate with the hotel nestled nicelely next to the... More
