I love trip advisor and always use this site whenever I'm traveling. I feel compel to share honest opinions with fellow travelers, as others have done. There is much to say about the Marbela Beach Resort. I'll start by saying this place is exceedingly disappointing. We actually believed the resort would equal the pictures on the resort website. No such...

So lovely! So relaxing! So inspiring! But most of all, so nice staff, from the waiter to the manager to the owner. I love those Indian guys who really take care of you. Will be there agian!
Very nice experience to live in "tents" compared with hotel rooms.

I was at Marbela Beach Hotel with my fellow MBA colleagues at the end of January 2012. It was definitely heaven on earth. The hotel is situated right on the beach and all you need is your flip flops and swim suit. The beach is amazing, nice sandy, clean and not to crowded. The hotel has their own beach tents...

However, as soon as sun sets the story changes.

My recent stay at Marbela beach would have to go down as the worst value and expectations/reality matchup in over 100 countries of travelling.
Please keep in mind that if the "resort" charged $50-100/night, then most of the below could be passed off as Goa/India idiosynchrasies, but at $400+/night (more expensive than the top hotels in other parts of India...

My new husband and I travelled to India on honeymoon, in December of last year, with the intention of spending 11 nights in Marbela Beach; a relaxing, chilled out way to end our stay in India. We booked months in advance and were very exicted at the prospect of staying in a luxury tent on the beach.
Without going into...

we have been here a few days around new years eve and the party started already on the 27th and with a very very serious sound system. I felt sorry for all the people staying there - no chance for sleep here those days and the didn't warn you!!!
