We arrived a day late andit was agoodthing because our transfer was not aware of us and never showed up on the planned date. BA paid for our room etc, because of their lateness.WE paid 270.00 Euros for each transfer in total 540 Euros to and from the hotel, be Aware this hotel is around 100 km south of Naples....

We visited during the off season in Sept 2006 and really enjoyed having the hotel almost "to ourselves". It was quiet and peaceful although the weddings added some excitement with the fireworks and music. We were there for 2 weeks so we got to know the staff by name and found them very helpful. An absolute disgrace. The hall looks ok,the rest of the hotel is average. And don't even think about feeling welcome when you arrive because you won't be.
Waiters are lousy and if you ask them something they just look at you in a rather annoyed way. Furthermore, Paestum has got a really nice and interesting archeological site BUT nothing more....

The MEC Hotel Paestum has a five star Italian government rating. This was obviously for the convention service facilities it offers, because it can't be for the hotel. This is a modern, sterile edifice that has no warmth, no charm, no nothing going for it, other than being convenient to the ruins at Paestum.
