How can you have a hotel that only provides dinner that has been pre-ordered either 1 or 2 nights before, from a choice of 2. It was mass catering on a not very grand scale. It was bland, tasteless and very un -Italian If you were to be stuck in the hotel there was not even the possibility of a bread... More

Dear Mr. "Morgan" (room 226 COMFORT, recently renovated) travelling with Great Rail Journeys of the group that was here by us at the hotel from 19 to 26 May 2012, how could we forget you and your nice lady. First point, you wrote that you traveled in pairs but in reality you have traveled in groups so the conditions are... More

The four star rating of this place is really beyond comprehension, must be the pond they call pool in the front yard. The staff ranges from unhelpful to hostile. Food is bad. The breakfast is really the worst I have ever seen at any hotel. I went to this place to attend a conference and especially want to urge conference... More

Stayed as part of Great Rail party. Hotel star rating can only be achieved by Pool! Breakfast is boring, uninteresting and I can understand why someone stated that if you like rubber cheese and ham then this is the hotel for you. Staff vary from the two girls who are very helpful to others who lack both helpfulness and personality.... More

Stayed here with a Great Rail Journeys tour. Can't fault the hotel's cleanliness or the politeness of the staff. Evening meals (part of the group deal) were of excellent quality and variety but morning coffee was sadly disappointing (especially when the Italians staying there got given options on which coffee they wanted and we had a pot of tar like... I stayed as part of a group and the staff could not have been more helpful, they were excellent. The rooms were good and clean, all with balconies. The public areas were spotlessly clean. The evening meals were very good and there was plenty of choice for breakfast, though thankfully no British fry-up. The pool is very welcoming and there... More

The picture advertised hides the fact, the hotel is right next to a derelict building, covered in weeds...etc that is under construction, which starts around 8:00am!. The pool is right at the front of the hotel, so everyone sitting on their balcony or walking into the reception area has a birds eye view. The rooms were very clean, no bathtub,... More

Stayed as part of a great rail journey group, the evening food was very good, but unless you liked plastic ham and tasteless plastic cheese every and I mean every morning I would eat out for breakfast, there is a nice little cafe one minutes walk away at the railway station that serves good breakfasts, the rooms are large, good... Rooms were OK. Pool was nice. Food in the evening was odd (strange things served together, particularly if you have the buffet). Breakfasts were very limited. Apparently you could pay extra for eggs (3 euros) but we were not offered this. Nice rooftop garden, which we sat on at night and enjoyed the view. But even though all of us... More

Stayed at Hotel Desenzano on a Great Rail Journey trip. The Hotel itself is fine and hard to fault. The walk back from the town does not get easier after a week. No too impessed with the food, if you do not like breakfast on day 1, unlucky, its the same every day. The evening meals were very bland an... More
