If you're looking for the perfect B&B in The Lake District, stop looking, you've found it! This really is not only the ideal spot for a peaceful few days of dramatic scenery, fell walking, and remote beauty, it is the most fabulous B&B we have ever come across. We've stayed in a number of places in The Lake District in... More

We recently tried Styan Bew B&B in the Lake District and can't praise it enough. Our host James was great from his lovely breakfasts to sorting out our first attempt at lighting a wood burning heater! For a B&B this is more like having a cottage with your own bedroom, bathroom, then living/dining room kept beautifully warm by the aforementioned... More

This is an ideal base for exploring the Lakes, and walking the mountains. Comfortable, cosy, with your own sitting room, and a view onto the mountainside. There is lots of birdlife in the garden. James is very welcoming, and provides a big enough breakfast to climb 2 mountains! There are walks straight from the cottage, and many others (and eating... More

My boyfriend and I have stayed in this B&B twice now and we still want to go back! It really is beautiful and everything you could want from a relaxing break with plenty of walking. The B&B feels more like a cottage break without the self-catering, it has a separate living room with a DVD player, comfy sofa and a... More

Wonderful - quiet setting, beautiful surroundings, great breakfast, clean and cosy accommodation, well positioned - many lovely walks from the door and the start for Helvellyn only a short drive away. It was lovely to have a little outside space and private sitting room/dining room.

Spent two nights at Styan Bew recently. I defy you to find another B&B like this one. James our host made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for him. There are numerous walks from the door and we may have tackled more had the weather been half decent. One thing that was lovely is coming back... More

From your own cosy private sitting room to the amazing views of Hartsop and variety of birds in your own little garden, not to mention the comfy bed & delicious breakfast, our stay at Styan Bew was perfect. There are walks from right outside the door or Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness on Windermere are all just a short drive away.... More

Just the best B&B ever, no questions! We went in April 2012. Lovely sitting room all to yourself, tastefully decorated and cosy. All the benefits of a hotel and self catering all rolled in together. Set near Brotherswater at the foot of the Kirkstone pass the mountain views from the windows are stunning. Blissfully quiet apart from the multitude of... More
