We stayed at this hotel on business for several days with a group of colleagues. It seems the room allocation was something of a lottery with us drawing a short straw. We were on the second floor, up several flights of narrow stairs and at the end of a long, dark corridor with a carpet that smelt quite frankly vile.... More

We stay at the Hafod a couple of times a year, and bring a bunch of 'gastro' motorbikers from London. The Hafod Hotel is a perfect location for us, in the centre of some great roads and scenery. We always find the service and food to be top notch and a good price. The Sunday dinners are awesome. We look... More

This is my second stay at the Hafod Arms Hotel ...A group of us stayed for May Bank Holiday Weekend and it was excellent yet again. It is a very friendly, family run Hotel. It has a cosy and charming appeal .. Real fires and Traditional Decor. which suits the age of the Hotel. The Food was just lovely as... More

Great place to stay! We stayed 2 nights after cycling in the Elan Valley. This is a wonderful area to enjoy unspoilt countryside and bird watching, with clear nights for star gazing. We felt really welcome and relaxed in this family-run hotel. The food was great, with a range of choices for breakfast - I had the best scrambled eggs... More

We stopped here for a night whilst touring mid Wales. Although finding somewhere to park was not easy, that was the only thing that spoiled an otherwise peasant stay. We ate in the bar area as the restaurant wasn't oen but that did not diminish the acceptability of bar food, in particular the sirloin steak was superb. The room was... More

Hello, we stayed at the hotel just for one night. The food was excelent, especially the breakfast. Evening meal was excelent quality, and good service. The rooms were a little dated (Well room 8 was) but the bathroom is first class. I would think that in time the bedrooms will also be up dated. A big thank you to Martin... More

Dave's cooking is second to none, and the whole family make you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them - ask and they will do all they can to deliver. The Sunday lunch is the best my family and I have had. You have a drink on sofas in the lounge in front of the fire to... More

I absolutely loved this hotel. Sort of 'faded grandeur' if you will. Rooms/bathrooms excellent. Food fantastic. Excellent area for walking. Train down to Aberystwyth short walk away. We 'walked' down ravine that IS Devil's Bridge, thought we would never climb up the other side being two 'older' ladies! but eventually managed it. Would love to stay there again if ever... More

We only stopped at the Hafod for liquid refreshments, which has stunning views, but sadly this is the only good thing going for this hotel. The smell of dampness greets you as soon as you open the door, tables were dirty, hoover was on public view next to food bar, kitchen - which was visible through a half glass door... More
