I booked this as a surprise for my husbands 40th Birthday. Beautiful but small cottage room recently decorated, there is still some building work going on but it didint interfere with us. We had a lovely 3 course meal in the evening, my husband said the mussels where fantastic. The cooked breakfast was really good, the view even better the... More

Advertised as a top notch boutique hotel but in our opinion not even close and not likely to be anytime soon. Parking is not available so pls consider this if not arriving by boat, its going to cost £3.50 a day if you can get a space in the Town car park. Having just arrived in a brand new car... More

I booked this for one night stay through Secret Escapes for my partners birthday, pre-dinner drinks, bottle of wine, three course meal and breakfast included at a very reasonable price. We had a sea view room and the view was truly outstanding (even in wind and rain), the room was bright and comfortable but the carpet didn't appear to of... More

We spent 2 nights here over the Easter Bank holiday weekend. Cant fault the warm welcome, the simple but wonderfully cooked and well thought out menu or the rooms themselves. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, including local kippers if you like fish at that time of the day! The dinner menu was somewhat limited, we were only there 2 days... More

We stayed for three nights after Easter in one of the three smallish, second floor, front rooms (top right on the photo). There were absolutely wonderful views over the jetty and the harbour, 2 miles across to St Anthony's head, with the lighthouse and then more distant sea views. The room was clean, comfortable and well decorated in modern pastel... More

Booked through Secret Escapes, with BB and dinner included. The hotel was a bit worse than presented on the website. Room was clean, with fairly plain furnishing, walls paper thin (luckily people next to us were reasonable), bath was fine, overall nothing exceptional. The central heating was not working so we used a portable heater that was provided in the... More

We have just come back from a 3 night stay at the St Mawes Hotel, booked through Secret Escapes. The deal was three nights bed, breakfast and dinner with wine and pre dinner drink thrown in. Fantastic value as staff and hotel are lovely. The only letdown was the menu which is very limited. We had exhausted the menu by... More

We booked through Secret Escapes and it turned out it was a secret to the chap welcoming us too! Once they sorted out the booking from the email we had we were shown to our room which was nice, albeit a little 'lived in' from the point of view of needing a bit of a paint in places but generally... A nice tidy hotel with very nice staff, outlook and situation. I have read some negative reviews for this establishment and have to say they do not square with my experience. Not perfect but very good and will be going back More
