We recently spent four nights at Anvershiel on a golfing trip and can't recommend highly enough. Victor & Erna went above the call to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfasts, accommodations, and extra touches were unmatched in four trips to the British Isles in recent years. Anvershiel is convenient to restaurants, shops, and easy to access on main road. Highly recommended... More

I stayed at Anvershiel House for one night, while on a motorcycle tour of Ireland with some friends. The place was easy to find (right off the main road), and Portrush is a great place to stay if exploring the Antrim Coast. The hostess, Erna, was very hospitable and provided us with a good introduction to what the town had... More

A rather old B&B. Good walking distance from the town. Rooms did not have hair dryer unless asked for. More

It never fails to amaze me that people seek inexpensive B&Bs and then expect the trimmings of a 5 Star Hotel. Our website and the Information Folder in all rooms clearly states that hair dryers are available on request. This person states the accommodation was 'Not Expensive' but then goes on to Rate it as quite expensive!!! The house was... More

A warm greeting awaited us & the time was taken to sit down with us & explain all about the local restaurants & venues. Accomodation was exceptionally homely, with a large comfortable room. Less than a 3 minute walk to the promenade leading to the harbour & town centre. Breakfast was more tha ample, with a wide choice of quality... More

Just back from the Anvershiel and can't wait to return. Victor and Erna are just perfect hosts who made us feel extremely welcome in Portrush. They made our daughter feel as if she was one of their own. The breakfast was magnificent and plentiful. On returning 'home' after a long day in the North coast Erna & Victor joined us... More

This was the first time my husband and I have stayed at a B&B. Our tour company (Irish Tourism) included several on our route and I have to say we were quite impressed with the quality. Anvershiel House is a lovely spot that is very close to the downtown in Portrush. We checked in, gave our breakfast order and were... More

Room was clean, though sparse... a bit blah... nothing distinctively "Irish". Erna greeted us a bit gruffly, as we had been delayed in our arrival, and she seemed a bit put out by this. Breakfasts were good, and a traditional "Ulster Fry" was available, which was quite nice. The location was convenient to Antram Coast attractions. More

Yes, these people arrived late and after sitting in waiting a few hours for them to arrive I was annoyed - a little apologise from them would have been nice. B&Bs are not hotels and we don't have staff - we have shopping and other things to attend to. There are photographs of our rooms on Anvershiel website and as... More

Anvershiel House, with it's bright yellow exterior and flags flying, was easy to spot as we drove in on the A29. Erna soon had us under her spell with her friendly nature and good humor. She gave us directions (under the arch and along the promenade) to a popular pub -- so filled with patrons watching Rory at the U.S.... More

I was in Portrush for a friends wedding and stayed 4 nights in the Anvershiel Guest House, a reasonably priced B&B which is just ten minutes walk from the centre of town and the coast. I was greeted by Erna and Victor who throughout my stay were friendly and very helpful with regard knowledge and advice for eating out, sight... More
