We picked Abigail's very last minute as we had some Peak District walking and exploring to do and didn't fancy the drive home between our days out. We had to be in Newark on the Saturday and Sunday during the day, and had a concert to attend in Manchester on the Saturday evening so plumped for Chesterfield as a convenient mid-way point. It was very easy to find the Guest House, and we were soon warmly greeted by Debbie, one of the two owners, and shown the... More

We were given a very friendly welcome on arrival. Our room was very nice and spotlessly clean. We had a hearty breakfast in a lovely breakfast room. We were close by to a Pub where we could walk to for a great evening meal. We would highly recommend Abigails Guest House. More

I have stayed here many times over the years and I always come back for the comfortable surroundings, the friendliness of the staff and the fantastic full english breakfast in the conservatory over looking the rural edges of the quiet spire town of Chesterfield.Value for money and location make it a perfect. Don't tell anyone else about this gem as... More

Everything about the place was A1, it is situated a short walk from the centre of Chesterfield, the facilities are brilliant with large comfy beds and rooms decorated to maximise that homely feel. Two ladies in their late 80s (one of them registered blind,) stayed for one night to attend a family wedding in Chesterfield, followed by a reception near Bakewell. They were extremely warmly greeted by the lovely Abigail who instantly made them feel very welcome and comfortable. The reception area, bedroom, and bathroom were just like a home from home and...
