Popped in here today for lunch with my dad after a walk. We were served by a very friendly and helpful waitress. I had a sage derby and onion panini which came with lovely fresh salad with homemade coleslaw. Open fire was very welcoming. We paid less than £15 for two teas and two paninis. Very good value. Will be... More

Food ok and this place could be quite pleasant, but as posted elsewhere, the staff and owner are rude. There appeared to be no childrens menu so we tried to make do with the existing offerings, much to the grumblings of the sour faced woman behind the counter. The fire was going out, the staff appeared busy so I asked... More

We stayed there for long summer weekend a some time ago.as usual we took laptop with us.(everywhere we went in the UK we had computer and nothing happened). We paid for room at arrival(cash).we got room on the ground floor "behind" the living room(cannot remember the room number). This room had back door and we were told we cannot touch it... More

We stopped here for much needed refreshments after a days walking. If you're just after a hot drink, you may be OK. However I also ordered a cream scone. This I would have expected to be served as a scone, with cream and jam on the side. No. They had 'made it up' already so that when it was served... More

Well, what can we say about this one? well, we normally stay at the Bulls Head in Castleton just a short drive away, but this trip was last minute at a popular time and they were booked, so we just phoned around to find a vacancy anywhere we could. The owner, Judith, was like the old fashioned B&B mistress you... More

Beds and room OK but non atmospheric. Towels sour smelling. Shower poor and sink hot water barely flows. No biscuits on tea-tray. Like a hostel not a B&B. No feeling of being welcome, only being a source of owners income. No cards or cheques accepted, only CASH. No proper 'legal' receipt, only postcard, undated etc etc! No guest details, name/address... More

We used this B&B as a base for the start and finish of a long distance walk from Bakewell to Hope. The rooms were clean and there was no problem with leaving the car in the rear carpark for the 2 nights we were away. I agree with other reviews about the inconvienience of accepting only cash as I use plastic... More

For a spontaneous, last-minute trip we couldn't have fallen on a more beautiful place as Woodbine, Hope Valley. With the perfect en-suite room, we had the added excitement of glorious countryside views from our bedroom window. The owner, Judith provided such well equipped, impeccably clean rooms along with her friendly personality making us feel so welcome and comfortable in her... More

We went to the cafe for breakfast one rainy morning, but found it expensive and not that friendly. The 'veggie' fried breakfast was sloppy fried mushrooms with luke-warm tinned tomatoes and baked beans - for a fiver...toast extra...
