We only wanted drinks plus snacks, requesting a Pimms which was of poor standard having zero fruit. Very expensive £8 for a Pimms, shandy n packet crisps! Service from staff unfriendly, glad not staying over.

I only stayed one night but would have loved to have stayed a bit longer longer. Friendly owners, comfortable and clean (room 1) with a telly, video and dvd player, and in the morning, a generous and tasty breakfast. The hotel is more like a pub and although I was out for most of the evening, the traditional bar looked... More

We received the warmest and kindest welcome that anyone could wish for, when we called in for an early supper at this Derbyshire Pub. My father in law has limited mobility, so they opened up the back way in to allow him easy access. Insisted we sat in the dining room room that is used for B and B guests... More

Travelled with my wife for a weekend away meeting friends. We have stayed in pubs with accommodation before so knew what to expect however we were very disappointed with what we found. The room we were in was reasonably tidy on first inspection but ensuite was not good, with a badly worn and unhygienic toilet seat, a hot tap that... More

Friendly owners who showed us to our room, then it went downhill. Stains on the carpet, the toilet seat was actually peeling round the edges (please pop to B & Q and buy a new one!) and mould in the shower left us wondering if it could get any worse? Luckily we were booked out for the afternoon and a... More

Best of British. Real England. Proper Derbyshire. Our 3rd stay and hopefully many mores to come. Ideal location for seeing Derbyshire. Nothing pretentious. Walking boots and dogs welcome. Don't expect the 5 star Ritz but what you will get is 10 star hospitality, beer and food. Mine hosts Tony, Carol and their small team al make you welcome from start... More

We called in here and had the midweek carvery on a Thursday. Much of the food is home made and we went for the home made steak pie which was really lovely. The prices were right on the money (excuse the pun), excellent value. My wife and I had the steak pie from the carvery and my 6 year old... More

As per other reviews this 'hotel' provides basic pub rooms in a pub which is squashed between a cliff wall and the A6. Lots of road noise in the pub and throughout the village. Having said that most of the hotels/B&Bs/Inns seem to be in similar positions so must suffer from the same problems, but maybe some have double glazing.... More
