We arrived in Killala on a cold wet Friday night in early December with our 3 kids (all under 6). The bad weather was instantly forgotten about on arrival. As we didn't get there until late that night; Liz had gone down to the cottage earlier, put on the heating and lit a fire with some of the large amounts... More

We visited the Old Deanery Cottages in early September with our 2 kids aged 2 & 4 and with our parents in law who were flying in to Knock. From the moment of the booking Liz's fantastic hospitality was evident, we queried with Liz for a recommended taxi firm to pick up my parents in law from the airport and... More

We brought our 2 boys age 7&9 for hallowe'en mid term, they had such a great time! Liz & Tony had a 'terror in the cellar' party & they had such fun.. its a perfect location as you have Killala village beside you & Ballina just a drive up the road.. You are surrounded by beautiful places to take some... More

Hi Liz Just a quick note to say thank you for the outstanding welcome and hospitality this weekend. I’m sure that Brendan and TJ will contact you as the organisers to say thanks. From my point of view you went to amazing lengths to make us all welcome. One of the first rule for a successful business is “To Exceed... More

The Old Deanery is really beautiful, the scenary is amazing and you can look out at the Bay from the cottage windows. The cottages were spotless and really lovely and warm, my children could not get enough of the place. Liz and Tony are lovely people whom would do anything to help you enjoy your stay and I would recommend... More

Dear Caroline, Thanks for your lovely review of the Old Deanery Cottages. Delighted to hear you and your family had such a good time. Great that the children had fun - did they try out our drop-in arts and crafts in the Joe Keane Creative Centre while they were here? Hope to see you back here soon. Regards, Liz Keane... More

I was traveling alone from Boston to visit a very dear friend who was quite ill. In search of a place where I could cook my own meals, make a warm fire and visit with friends, The Old Deanery Cottages afforded me just such an opportunity. It was more than that, however. Liz and Tony greeted me with a basket... More

I stayed here, in killa, with my girlfriend, for my family reunion mid may. There were lots of us occupying all but 1 of the cottages, with ages ranging from 6 to 60 (ish). The location is great, it's a small village with a few proper pubs and 1 supermarket. Be warned however, that like the rest of Ireland, this... More

Dear Nes1984, Many thanks for taking the time to put your lengthy review on Trip Advisor. It's always great to have feedback - and to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the cottages. They're particularly suitable for family groups/reunions such as you had, being able to sleep up to 48 people, but with that bit of privacy and space... More

Our Easter spent at The Old Deanery Holiday cottages was one to remember. The location on Killalla Bay takes your breath away, and the recently refurbished cottages are excellently equipped. Liz & Tony are extremely warm & welcoming , and nothing is too much trouble for them, whether it is organising sightseeing trips to the neolithic sites in the area,... More

We stayed only for a night as we were travelling through the town. The cottages are recently refurbished and to a very good standard. Modern kitchen with all the appliances you can wish for, fireplace with real fire, comfortable beds and nice views from everywhere. The setting is perfect as it close to the centre of town and to the... More

We stayed here with our two girls, 4 and 8 and we all loved it. It's like stepping back to a simpler, easier time while maintaining the comforts of modern day appliances and amenities. The location is amazing, we were lucky enough to get a cottage at the front so the view of the sunrise in the morning and the... More
