Stayed here for the weekend, luckily we had great weather. On arrival the receptionists was very friendly and polite. The room we had was on the third floor, it was spacious but dated, though it felt cosy, with the great weather the room was very warm, window was left open at all times. Bathroom needed alot of work. Had dinner... More

My wife and I had the misfortune to stay at this place during April this year 2012. Staff were friendly and welcoming but we were worried by the posters around the place with a lunatic offer of ALL YOU CAN DRINK from 11.30 until 3 a.m. for 20 euros at Jumping Jacks Nighclub in the hotel. BOOM BOOM BOOM until... More

Stayed there for 2 nights in April. While the staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel itself ls in a very run down state. The bedroom we had needs a complete make over and a thorough cleaning especially the bathroom. More

spent last weekend in the hotel and it was great. Bar food at night was lovely and the evening's entertainment was superb. The rooms were quiet in spite of the night club downstairs and breakfast was hot and tasty and no one rushing you out. A lovely break and looking forward to a repeat soon More

Very impressed by the size of rooms and they seemed recently decorated. Very clean and fresh. Evening meal was just carvery so went elsewhere. Breakfast quite good - staff uniforms could be smarter. Excellent location in centre of town. Quiet streets in April I don't know if front rooms might be noisy in summer. Leisure centre excellent. Staff very helpful.. More

Spent one night at the Holyrood this month. Overall impression was that the place could do with sprucing up. The room was okay but felt tired and dated. The 'full irish' breakfast was very good and the hotel is ideally located on the main street, but a facelift is definately required! More

We visited the hotel with a group of children and parents and were very pleased with the standard of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the excellent food (dinner and breakfast). Well done! Stayed at Hollyrood the last 2 days. Got a great discount deal. Its true what they say. If it sounds too cheap, theres a reason. Hotel is old fashioned but wont critisize that too much. Room was large but a bit grubby. Huge cracks across ceiling, chunks broken off window surround, carpets walls all need upkeep. Bathroom clean, but looked... More
