I stayed here a few months back with family but deleted my comment due to an error. This lodge to be fair is central to kinsale and clean and comfortable. It was not overpriced and the breakfast was served well. There are also houses there to rent next door which is part of the friars lodge but due to my... More

Rooms were large but furnishings were well worn, tired looking, and dated. The Irish breakfast was just adequate but not as good as other bed and breakfasts. Hotel was centrally located and did include parking in a back lot. Enjoyed the town but wouldn't stay here again. More

Helpful staff, comfortable rooms and good location. Nice, large rooms and good breakfast. Took my mom along with 4 other female family members. Mom did great with the walking and we even dragged her up to the Spaniard! Lovely little town. Would visit here again. Parking was tight, but a huge benefit. Excellent location for convenience and access to town... More

We stayed here one night. Great Location on a quiet street just above the castle and short walk down to the marina. Staff was helpful and friendly with directions and recommendations. Our room was large, quiet and dark with one window. Beds were "average European mattresses". Firm, coiled mattresses (no pillowtops here). Pillows and linens were average comfort. Breakfast was... One of the reasons for returning to the Kinsale Jazz Festival four years in succession is the pleasure of staying at Friar's Lodge. Set on a quiet hill just behind the centre of town, Friar's Lodge is excellent value. Huge rooms, great breakfasts (Bailey's with the porridge) and a wonderful Irish welcome from Maureen Tierney and her team. I've already... More
