We easily found Mary Fitzgerald's Clonunion House Farmhouse B&B just outside of Adare, County Limerick after driving south from Kinvara earlier that day. We had stopped at several tourist destinations (Cliffs of Moher, Knappogue Castle, and Quin Friary) and were rather tired by the time we got to the B&B. Mary warmly welcomed us into her home with tea service.... More

My husband and adult son and I had the wonderful experience of Clonunion House B&B on August 31, 2011. It was very easy to find, right off the road that goes into Adare. The grounds are very large and beautiful. We were given a warm and friendly welcome and felt immediately at home with Mary, our wonderful host. The rooms... More

My family and I shared a family room in this gorgeous, traditional, gerorgian house run by the Fitzgerald family. The family room we shared is spacious filled with beautiful antique furniture, large comfortable beds and the shared sitting room is very inviting. We had a lovely homecooked full Irish breakfast before leaving the next morning. This is the ideal location... More

What a beautiful piece of property. Mary was just delightful and charming. The room was gorgeous and large furnished with antiques and with a king size bed that provided me with the best sleep in weeks. The shower stall was compact yet spacious and modern by design. This house was built in the late 1700s and ensured that the only... More

Clonunion House is a working farm just outside Adare, with an interior that doesn’t seem to have changed much in the past 100 years (except that the bathroom is up to date - but no tv, telephone, or wifi). But it made a nice break from the usual run of modern, purpose-built, suburban b&bs; and the hostess was part of... More

Our recent stay at Clonunion House was simply perfect. Mary is an extradordinary hostess - friendly, amiable, knowledgable. Her ornate home feels cozy from the moment she brings out a tray of tea and biscuits as a welcome. Our room was stunning - from the moment we walked in, our jaws dropped and I could not stop saying "Wow!!". The... More

Easily reached on the east side of Adare, this farmhouse takes one back to the stately dimensions of a bygone era. The rooms are extraordinarily large and roomy and the conveniences are modern enough that you don't feel at all misplaced in time. Mary is an attentive and considerate host and the breakfast is diverse and generous enough to satisfy... More

Spent one night at this lovely tranquil B & B. Mary the owner was absolutely lovely, a fantastic hostess and so obliging, she drove my friend and I down to the Woodlands Hotel where we had a dinner reservation. The house which Mary and her family bought 30 years ago from the Dunraven family has great history and we would... More

What a wonderful surprise staying in an older farmhouse with beautiful grounds, setting, relaxing furniture , great conversation and hostess. Mary Fitzgerald was a gem. The grounds were so charming and we never felt like we didn't belong. Be sure to check out the horses' memorials. More

Mary Fitzgerald and her husband own a beautiful B&B just far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough if you want a change of pace. Their home which is 240 years old and located on a 130 acre working farm, is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Mary was a delight and served us a delicious breakfast every morning.... More
