Beautiful Sunday, weather glorious, great idea, lets meet up with friends at The Porter House for a few beers and some food. It started off well. We ordered drinks while looking at the menu, their Red Ale is wonderful. After about 20 minutes we found someone to order the food from. We ordered a sharing plate of Chicken wings, cocktail... More

Big fan of this place, love the interior and a great spot for a night out in Bray. Decent pub grub and a good range of their own beers. Perfect for a sunny day in the beer garden looking out over the strand and up to Bray head.

went for a bite to eat early evening. On first impression walking in what were they thinking and who did they get to paint the furniture it like a child did it and it makes the place look uninviting as I am from bray and know the porterhouse and went in. We sat inside and ordered a large salad pizza and... More

We were here a few years ago and it was a nice little place with some of the most interesting beers. In Ireland you could normally get three types of beer. Guinness, Average lagers and an awful drink called Smethwick’s. Just think dish water for the last one......anyway this place blew that away BUT ever since it expanded its lost... More

Had the surf and turf ( 18 Euro ) which consisted of a sirlion steak,6 prawns chips and onion rings. My requested medium steak was well done however the prawns were tasty. The chips were ok however the onion rings were deep friend tasteless entities. Very poor table service, I was never asked how my meal was and after 40... More

We had lunch at the Porter House during a day out in Bray while we were on vacation in the Wicklows. First as we're French we wanted to taste the Irish stew. it was mentioned on the sign outside the pub but not on the menu we were handed out when seated. so I asked the waitress if we could... More

we live in Dublin we stayed over for a party and we decided to book the Porterhouse as the rooms looked good in their website, and when you go in they look pretty good, sort of bachelor pad, dark wooden floor, sleek interior but not so clean, small bed and toilet a pit gaunt and a little unidentified insect crawling... I was refused entry to the Porterhouse (while sober i should add) on the 28th of May. The reason given was "you are not local" which I take to be a racist remark because I had an english accent. This is absolutely disgraceful and racist behaviour from the door staff at the Porterhouse and of course I will never visit... More

Ok Granted, the rooms were freezing& there didn't seem to be dedicated hotel staff but the staff that were on site (in the bar) more than made up for it. We did complain that rooms were cold, so not only did they fix the air con but gave us extra duvets. They couldn't do enough for us and that is... More

Having visited the Porterhouse establishments in Dublin & London many times, I was delighted to have the opportunity to stay in Bray. The first thing that struck me was the grubbiness of the front, outside seated area followed by sticking to the floor when entering the bar (not clean). Checkin in ok & room best described as adequate. I guess... More
