We stayed in the friendly town of Ennistymon, County Clare last week in the Byrnes Restaurant and Accommodation because we wanted to try somewhere different off the trodden tourist path that presented a bit of elegance at affordable prices. We found the town of Ennistymom perfectly situated for us to play golf at Lahinch Golf Course as well as tour... More

We really enjoyed our meal in Byrnes. It was the most enjoyable evening of our recent stay in County Clare. The staff were welcoming, the food was delicious and we had a lovely corner table with a great view all to ourselves. The restaurant setting is cosy and tables are nicely spaced (a luxury these days!). If I were back... More

Great location and quiet relaxed atmosphere. Good food, wine and beer. Good service. Great spot for lunch overlooking Ennistymon Falls rom the balcony terrace. Good choice of starters and desserts. Book ahead in high season.

Stopped for a late late lunch and walked into a deserted bar and had to ask for reassurance whether they were actually open or not.. anyway service was very prompt and was given menu's by young barman and told that the salmon was off the menu temporary. Food arrived twenty minutes later and was pleasantly surprised we ordered cod in... More

Hi Buchally, My name is Conor, I am the manager in Byrne's. Glad to hear you enjoyed the food. Sorry to hear you didn't completely enjoy the whole experience, we were having trouble with our boiler that day and decided to get it fixed during the quietest period of the day. It's fixed now and the restaurant is cosy again.... More

Ate here recently with 2 friends , staff were welcoming and really friendly , particularly Richard who I think is the proprietor . Good wine selection - they also sell wine to go , reasonably priced and really good home cooked food . Will be back , well done .

We visited on a weekday evening and there didn't seem to be any early bird so ordered a la carte. I had a prawn starter -very tasty but it was €9 which is dear for a starter like that. A lot of things on the menu were not available or were substituted for different things so if you looked at... More

This is the place we'll remember best from the whole trip. Please understand - this hotel has real character. If you don't, maybe you won't appreciate the centuries-old stone exposed by holes in the plaster, or flights of stairs needed to attain the amazing view of the cascades (waterfalls) below. The owner, Richard, was delightful, warm, wonderful, and Byrnes is... More

Found this gem very much by accident . It was late 8:00pm and we were hungry. And we were 2 towns away from our cottage in Liscannor . We were on ths N85 in County Clare and we stopped in this very small village and by a stranger's suggestion we entered. It was a culinary delight. It was like being... More

We stayed at Byrnes on spec. Great view of the magnificent falls from our room - and the roar to go with it. Very good, wholesome food and delightful owner/staff justifying 5 star billing even if rooms above are a little "underdone". Can also recommend Cooley's House for a quiet(?) drink with spontaneous music.

Stayed in Byrnes recently while attending a wedding in the nearby hotel. We really weren't sure what to expect but we were delighted that we chose to stay there as it was lovely. First of all we arrived early and the owner was very friendly and had our room ready for us so we could get ready for the wedding.... More
