We stayed during a visit to bath as they are conveniently placed on the outskirts of bath in a quaint village Upon arriving we was welcomed by the landlord and checked in very quickly (no paperwork) the room was well equipped and comfortable with a nice large shower the only thing is the room was well decorated but needs a... I did not stay at the Rose and Crown on this occasion as I was just passing through. However, it was pouring with rain and I was on my way from Bristol to Salisbury on my bicycle. Having fallen off a few miles earlier, I needed coffee. There was shelter for the bikes and really good coffee. I was even... More

I stayed at this pub/restaurant in March 2012 with my wife and friends. We had superb accomodation, food and service at a reasonable price. In view of this we paid another visit in April again with friends. On arrival at 4.55pm the place was locked. After banging on the door we gained entry only to be told our room was... More

My apologies you did not enjoy your stay The reason your room was not ready at 4:55 is because check-in is not until 5:30pm this is stated on your Lateroom booking or booking confirmation hence the reason your friends room was ready but not yours at the present time, there should have been toiletries and toilet roll in your room... We stayed for just the one night, for close proximity to Bath. Reasonably priced and had a very nice, spacious room, which was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and the food & service was good. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was rather generous to say the least. The road outside was not a problem and we enjoyed... More

Stayed here for one night. Wish we could have spent more time in the pub itself. The old part is characterful and cosy, and it has been extended at the back, sympathetically with the surrounding bath-stone buildings, to provide modern accommodation. As mentioned in previous reviews, it's a bit noisy during the day as it's next to the main road... More

Stayed here as it was close to an event I had been invited to and wanted a close and inexpensive place to stay. The room (3) was pleasant, a little bit noisy as overlooking the main road but nothing that kept me awake. A bit odd that the tea making facilities had to be moved to make a cup of... More

Situated in a pretty village south of Bath. Has a few rooms to let. Simply, clean and welcoming. Room is 3 star standard. Staff friendly and easy going. Dinner in Pub is nice with a dozen selections of main course and 3/4 specials. Local beer. Log burner makes it feel cosy. Breakfast in separate room and tasted great.

Just had an excellent Sunday lunch here. We ate in the bar which was warmer and less austere than the annexe dining room. The menu included the usual sunday roasts and bar foor as well as more interesting mains such as pheasant with rosti and blueberry jus. Three of us had the small portions of roast at around £6/£7 which... More
