Keep away from the roomnumber with the numer 100.. They are at the lowest levet, without a lift but under the Conferancse rooms, terrible noisy. The food was poor, and have the same taste, if it was fish, meat or chocolate mousse. No taste! For a good price it`s ok to sleep there but find other places to eat. More

We stayed at Highland hotel to celebrate new year's eve. The rooms are OK, but quite small and a bit cold. We had to turn up the heat when we got there. We liked that the bathroom had a shower and a bath tub, and it was also nice that the room had a balcony. We were happy to hear... More

I arrived this hotel late, and was actually to late to get dinner. But i asked the waitress if they could get me something like a light meal. I got a delicious fish soup, with bread and butter, with a beer. And I was a happy camper. I had my dinner in the bar, and took my coffee and whisky... More

Stayed here in connection with a scientific meeting. To be fair: the meeting was fully booked, and I may have gotten a single room that they otherwise don't use. But it was really quite disappointing: Dark, small, window on main street, under the roof, with 3 steps down - in a small room! - from door and bathroom to sleeping... More

Check in is at 15.00. Eventhough we requested, days before arrival, to be alloved to check in early on account of the children, we had to wait until 17.00 to check in. Considering that the hotel was almost without guests at the time this was rather strange... The following days we experienced several more incidents that in sum left us... More

We stayed at the Highland Hotel in Feb 2007. Our rooms were large, with twin beds plus a separate (screened off) seating area, and were very warm and comfortable. Facilities within the rooms are basic - take a kettle if you like coffee after a hard day, and take your own bathroom supplies - tissues, soap etc (and soft toilet... More

Great hotel with fantastic lounge/bar area, loads of comfy seating/open fires etc. Nice quiet room with shower. Half-board meals included extensive hot/cold buffet breakfast (bags provided if you wanted to make a picnic lunch!) and set evening meal(unfortunately no early option for toddlers). Wine very expensive, more affordable at the off-licence in town. Central location between ski areas & close... More

Stayed in the Highland after Christmas and over New Year 2006. The room's seem varied and the 3 we had all had slightly different decor and facilities, some with showers, some with bath's so ask for what you prefer. All were clean and warm, with under 'bathroom' heating, which was great for warming the gloves for the next day! All... More

Arrived in Geilo, at the Highland Hotel on Boxing Day 2004. It's centrally located & ideal for the slopes, being about a 20 minute walk from Geilolia slopes if you fancied it, or failing that the ski bus stopped right outside regularly. The room was on the small side with just a shower in the bathroom, although other rooms had... More

Geilo what a place ! A magical way to spend christmas with your family. So much to do Horse Sleigh rides through forests at night, dog sledding, sledging, forest walks. We stayed at the Highland hotel for christmas week and I can honestly say it was outstanding. The staff were freindly and helpful, we had live entertainment in the piano... More
