Stayed 1 night on a trip round Spain. The hotel is ok, nothing special but was cheap so can't complain too much. The hotel is next to Carrefour, Mc Donald's and a small shopping centre with a cinema and some restaurants. It took us about 25 mins to walk to the Plaza de España over the beautiful Roman bridge. The... More

We stayed here for a short break to Merida. The hotel itself is very close to the city centre but if you dont want to walk over the old roman bridge there is a bus stop at the end of the st which will take you directly into town for 75cents! The room was large and comfortable with lovely views to... More

This hotel is a standard business type hotel located in a newly developed area of town neext to the dual-carriageway, a Carrefour Hypermarket, and a Macdonalds Drive Thru. The area both lacks charm or any kind of quality ambiance - hardly what you would describe as a 'hidden gem'. It is a 40 minute walk to centre of Merida, which... More

We spent two nights at the Tryp Merida during the theatre festival. How it is classed as four star hotel is baffling. We were told that they had no rooms with double beds-only twin beds put together. There was a smell of damp in the bedroom (3rd floor room 329) and on the second night we came back late to... More

Modern hotel recommended to people with own car, have a little parking. The distance to central Merida is more or less 40 minutes by foot and in summer can be unbearable.Between two commercial centers, one a carrefour with a McDonald`s and the other bar-oriented and noisy with people and cars. Big room and bathroom, clean but with a stunning kitsch decor, roman sheets, mirrors all over... More

This is a weird building on an "out-of-town" shopping/dining complex.Well, its nearer the modern Merida but a 20 minute walk from the end of the roman bridge,40 minutes from the old part of the town. And a bit on its own, along with a supermarket and a couple of quiet restaurants low on character.Quiet in october, anyway. Helpful staff but professional rather than friendly.... More

Stayed at the Tryp for a week earlier in the year. Staff very friendly and prices per night were very reasonable. Nice clean hotel with fair sized bedrooms / bathrooms. The hotel is probably 20 - 30 minutes walk from the town centre - depending on how fit you feel and it is accessed by the back road over the... More
