This place has definitely seen better days. The price would have been very good if it were truly a four star hotel, but that time has long passed. I am surprised that the head office has not done something to correct the situation. Either renovate it or sell it off to a discount chain. The pool, for instance, is a... More

Rooms need repainting, bathrooms a refurb. The evening restaurant is a sad little affair stuck in a corner of the bar. Breakfast is served in the restaurant proper, a much better venue. Handy for the motorway but I imagine not so good for the town.

We stayed here on the 1st /2nd October 2012 and were in Room 326. We have used the Tryp Hotels in varying parts of Spain before and this one did not dissapoint. Booking into the Hotel was not an easy option on this occasion. This was brought about by them introducing a new booking in system. Thats all well and... More

Not well located, too far from city center. Near from comercial center (supermarket...) Charged 10 euros for parking / night is too expensive. A very small parking outside hotel is free. The room is large but don´t have minibar, A "vending machine" in the hall of the floor isn´t a good solution. WiFi is free. The service is too simple... More

Stayed 1 night on a trip round Spain. The hotel is ok, nothing special but was cheap so can't complain too much. The hotel is next to Carrefour, Mc Donald's and a small shopping centre with a cinema and some restaurants. It took us about 25 mins to walk to the Plaza de España over the beautiful Roman bridge. This hotel is a standard business type hotel located in a newly developed area of town neext to the dual-carriageway, a Carrefour Hypermarket, and a Macdonalds Drive Thru. The area both lacks charm or any kind of quality ambiance - hardly what you would describe as a 'hidden gem'. It is a 40 minute walk to centre of Merida, which... More

We spent two nights at the Tryp Merida during the theatre festival. How it is classed as four star hotel is baffling. We were told that they had no rooms with double beds-only twin beds put together.
