Just got back from a sunny week in Monte Gordo, self-catering at the Alba Hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the size of our rooms; good shower; very basic cooking facilities (2 rings, and microwave - but it grilled too, which was useful) but all the equipment was of a good quality, so you didn't have to battle with rubbish tin openers... Very hard to fault this hotel - good food, clean hotel, decent pool, friendly staff, great location. Also I think it's worth pointing out breakfast was only €3 each! More

Wasn't expecting too much from this hotel as it was fairly cheap. But was pleasantly surprised, rooms were a decent size, but had no iron or kettle (self catering) and no double beds just two single pushed together. They were cleaned every day. We arrived in Monte Gordo on the evening of May 2nd 2011. As we walked in to the reception we were greeted by a very nice woman and given the keycard. We went to our room and was nicely surprised. Good reception with always cheerful staff. Our room on first floor facing west looking out on pool. Clean bright decent decoration (magnolia theme!). Good lighting plenty of hot water all the time.
