A good quality hotel in an out-of-town location. We just spent the night there before moving on; the location is less than ideal if you want to visit Colchester as a tourist. The room was quiet and comfortable, with good bed, linen and bathroom. Heating/airconditioning was good. We did not try the food.
We stayed with family on our way to a family reunion. We had had trouble booking online as a family room only accepts 3 online but if you phone the hotel direct they are very helpful and sorted out our room requirements.

Hotel is everything you would expect from a holiday inn, we upgraded to a premium room which was really nice with a mini bar however the food and drinks were at london prices and for the location of the hotel not in keeping with what was available elsewhere.

I have visited this hotel regularly over the past five years and have found the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and quite spacious and the breakfast is very good. There is also a good gym. Overall good value for money especially if you book early.
