We just stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend and we had a very relaxing time. First thing is what this hotel is not. There is no TV, phone, clock, radio, internet service, or AC in their rooms. Cell service is very spotty as well. So this is a rustic place, but the staff is very helpful and they do... More

Oh where to start. Check in is at 4pm, later than most places, and they will not budge if you show up at 3:50, so they had a big rush at the counter at 4pm with people waiting for their rooms. Service at the counter was nice but not very professional. We stayed in a cabin and the best thing... More

Location of lodge is excellent. Love being in the woods. It was fun seeing wildlife on the grounds (saw wild turkeys and deer). However, the cabin was okay. It was of good size (had an extra bedroom with a queen size bed), but it was very dark inside despite the lamps. They need more light especially if you want to... More

Let's see, we had three people in a room that could sleep up to 6. We were told before we got there that there was a full kitchen. Upon arrival, that turned out to be 2 bowls, 3 coffee cups, a plate, and only one spoon. We did finally manage to get another couple of plates so the 3 of... More

We stayed here in March, 2012 and got a "standard family room" cabin. This cabin had one separate bedroom with a queen bed, and then the main part of the cabin had another queen bed and two twin beds. This main area also had a table with 4 chairs. The cabin was clean, but old and had that typical cabin... More

I wish we had had more than one night here. The rooms were huge, and the property, located inside the state park, had a nice, retro feel to it. We were able to go for a beautiful hike on the property before heading a few minutes down the road to a first-rate dinner at Big Sur Bakery. And, the next... More

I'm a nature lover, but camping is not really my thing, the big sur lodge is nestled inside pfiefer state park, so it was perfect. Rooms was surprisingly large, clean, qiuet, and super comfortable. No TV and spotty cell phone service, but that's part of the charm. Price was comparable to most other hotels in the area. Walking distance from... More

We stayed in one of the cabins in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and ate in the resturant. The cabins are spartan but comfortable for a family of 5. It was nice to have separate sleeping areas and a little kitchen, but the kitchen could have used more utensils -- only two spoons in the whole place. But you walk... More

We had a good time staying at the tent site, even though it was cold. The restaurant was a little slow but they were busy and working hard. The tent sites have just enough space so you're not right on the next person and get a little bit of privacy without breathing down someone else's neck. The staff in the... More

We stayed at the Big Sur Lodge 4/2 and 4/3/12. This is our third stay. It's not luxurious, but it is clean and comfortable. As far as we can tell they absolutely do not allow early Check in, which bothered us at first, but realized we just have to let it go. If your focus is hiking and enjoying this... More
