We arrived mid week and found a great spot for our tent. The staff is very helpful and the campground is very clean. The showers are included with the price. The restrooms and showers were exceptionally clean. There is power for your shaver or hair dryer and the staff cleans them three times a day. It does get very cool... More

This is a pretty nice spot, set along a river in the tall Redwoods. Very scenic, but also very crowded. We stayed in a 1 br cabin, which was spotlessly clean. There are no TVs, but plenty of board games and books in the cabin to keep occupied. It was fun. The bed wasn't very comfortable - the mattress is... More

We had a fun long weekend (Wed-Sun) here in late March, staying in a pop-up with a toddler. We had some trouble reaching the campground due to a rock slide on the 1, but staff called us in advance to warn us of the closure. When we got there, our reserved site was in a really muddy area and not... More

Let me start by saying: If you're looking for isolation, this is not it. If you're looking for a good place to get your camping-legs under you before venturing out on your own, look no further! The campgrounds are fairly small but beautifully kept up (the shared bathrooms and showers were better than I've seen anywhere else), and the cabins... More

Camping? This is more like tail gating with tents. The campground is REALLY small which means that campsites are basically glorified double parking spaces and you end up "camping" on top of each other. You are no more than 10 feet from your neighbor's tent and so you can hear "everything" - conversations, noises, etc.. Not to mention, since you... More

We loved this campground and we loved Big Sur! We rented an RV site for our 36 foot motorhome. It was a little tight backing into our site but the camper across from us was nice enough to move his truck. The river running through the campsite was beautiful. My husband and kids rented tubes and floated down the freezing... More

The cabins are nice, and by the river. Very cozy. BUT BEWARE!!! My girl friend and I stayed at Big Sur Campgrounds and Cabins for New Years this year. On our second day, while we were out exploring, my guitar was stolen from our cabin. We had locked the door behind us, but when we came back the door was... More

We very much enjoyed camping at Big Sur Campground and Cabins. We went off-season in January so the cost was a little less but still expensive as far as campsites go. However, I will point out that since it is not in a National/State park there is no car entry fee, there are great bathroom facilities with sinks, flushing toilets... More

It was such a refreshing few days to be in the forest away from the city. The site was great and had everything we needed for our tent, fire, table, and bathrooms. I saw a deer one morning walking through the site and got a picture. There are good trails all around and people were friendly and calm when we... More
