We stayed there not knowing anything about Palenque. This place has great service but you are so far from anything. Plus our last night was hell. A group of people arrived and rioted all night. Screaming and partying till 5am. The hotel did nothing. So after spending time in Palenque there much better places for a budget.
They say it's a 4 star hotel.. .but is far from that, in my opinion they get half a star. The rooms are generally not very clean, the curtains are raged, rooms are very very very ugly.
The Howard Johnson in Palenque is very clean, comfortable and quiet. It has a secured parking lot. A very good deal if you pay cash : 400 pesos per night for 2.
Exactly what you would be expecting for a Palenque stay, if no more than two nights. Clean and with very confortable beds, working air-con and ceiling fan. Not luxurious but perfectly adequate. I'd stay again for sure.
