Very rare mix of the privacy of a separate cabin with the perfect comfort of a hotel. Clare and Peter were always there for a chat when we needed them and we could be perfectly alone when it suited us. Just the birds and amazing views for company. The massages and reflexology were top standard, too. Don't miss it if... More

We spent three nights in one of the cottages at Resurgence in April of 2013. This is a small, very high quality "Eco Lodge" that gave us an opportunity to experience New Zealand's nature and hospitality. The property is lovely as are the owners Clare and Peter. They worked very hard to make us comfortable. The property is located in... More

We stayed two nights in a separate cabin, which had a detached bathroom for that extra bush and bath experience. Peter and Clare are friendly hosts who offer excelent local wines and nicely cooked food. Part of the pleasure of these lodges is the company of the other guests and the ways in which the hosts facilitate conversation. Peter and... More

I would highly recommend The Resurgence. The breathtaking views and fantastic walks are just two reasons to come and stay. The accommodation was wonderful, so peaceful and very very comfortable, everything seems to have been though of, we stayed in one of the self contained villas which were lovely. It linked in well with our 3-day Abel Tasman Kayaking Trip.... More

If you are looking for that special somewhere to escape to I would highly recommend the Resurgence. Stunning views of native bush at the head of the Riwaka valley can be seen from your private chalet balcony; there are nature trails around the property to explore; waking to the sound of native birds in the morning and delicious fresh home... We stayed here for two nights before and one night after a three day adventure in Abel Tasman National Park. Our hosts, Peter and Claire, could not have been more welcoming. We stayed in a bush chalet. All the chalets are sited so that guests have a great deal of privacy. We were surrounded by lush forest, with the only... More

Clare and Peter are excellent hosts: there when needed but allowing their guests to be themselves at other times. The views across the valley from the main lodge and the individual suites are stunning. The 4-course dinner option is certainly worth going for. During my stay, Clare produced tasty and varied food and a good selection of locally produced wine... More

The Resurgence is in a beautiful setting with stunning views all around and natural New Zealand vegetation. We stayed in the Kiwi Saddle Chalet with the separate bath house tree setting overlooking the valley and mountains. Chalet is designed with local cedar and has beautiful oak floors, fireplace, elegant rustic details, a kitchen and deck with gas grill. The room... More

We thought the Resurgence was the most special place we have ever stayed in. With friendly hosts catering for our every need including a non-dairy diet at dinner. We stayed in one of the lodges which we found well equipped, clean and comfortable. It seemed very high spec. for a wooden lodge in the middle of the bush! We enjoyed... More

We have traveled to many places and this is one of the most memorable. Peter and Clare are excellent lodge keepers and make everyone feel welcome. The Resurgence is clean and gorgeous with beautiful views and architecture. The cuisine is delicious. You won't regret staying at this special place.
