We had room 511, the air conditioning, even at the maximum warmth was blowing cold air, so waking up this morning was like waking up in an ice box. There was blood on the carpet! which talking about carpet, did not look like it had been vacuumed in a while. One of the tap handles in the bathroom fell off...

When I stayed at the Capitol Square for the first time 3 years ago I was impressed with the place. I had a lovely 'original' room over-looking George Street and the Haymarket area and the standard of service was high. This place is popular with tourist groups and it wasn't uncommon to find the small lobby area crammed with people...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I would never recommend it to any of my friends. The staff was rude at the check in and the room was small and noisy. Don't make the mistake to take the breakfast as we did: low quality and always same food..in summary, price of 4 star hotel in a backpackers place..
Stayed for 2 nights as my husband was playing in a band at "The Square" a venue underneath the hotel. We were in Rm 419, was reasonably quiet considering location. Double room a bit small and rundown but quite adequate for our needs, didn't spend much time in it. Saw one obligitory Sydney cockroach, but bedding was clean and bathroom...

Stayed for 2 nights to attend 3 day event at Sydney Entertainment Centre. All the hotels increase their prices as it is an annual event. Booked a Family Room. Room was smaller than most regular hotel rooms it contained double and single bed. Room looked as though it needed refirbishment. Advertised as having bath but was not full size. Toilet roll...

tiny room, dirty carpet, old furniture, not cozy at all. I asked for a quiet room as i have read some review saying it can get quite noisy at night, and don't expect to sleep until 2am. turned out the quieter side is quiet, but because it's facing the exhaust vent of the kitchen, you don't get fresh smell air....

We stayed here for two nights in early February. The only positive thing I have to say about the Capital Square Hotel is that its location is good. Other than that there really isn't much to recommend it.
The hotel is shabby and run-down. There seems no obvious attempt by the owners/management to undertake regular maintenance that would make it...

Stayed here for one night in December and whilst I wouldn't recommend it for more than a night or two, it is very good value if all you want is a bed to sleep in. No room service or in-room food preparation facilities, and the restaurant only being open for breakfast means that you are fending for yourself for most...

When I check in my room in February this year, it looked as if a thunderstorm had passed through it. The carpet was filled with stains and resembled a drug den. Totally awful and the staff do not seem to care a bit that their hotel's reputation is bad. They take no initiative and the room had a bad smell...
