This was our first time at this hotel, but we are sure that it won't be our last. All the staff were very helpful and friendly - we were particularly impressed by being handed towels when we arrived at the door after being caught in a downpour! The photos on the hotel website accurately reflect what it is like. Our... More

Dear Valued Guests We are very pleased to receive your first time feedback and know that following your experience you will return again. Morris our wombat is most definitely one of our highest performing staff members and receives many cuddles and occasionaly accompanies guests to their rooms (you can see his adventures on the hotel FaceBook page). We stayed here for a wedding in April. We would prefer a hotel with more modern decor but the room was good, the location was great and the price was pretty good too. We had a superior room but it was bigger than expected and had plenty of room for our three year old to spread out. He loved the... More

Dear Valued Guests It's very nice to hear that although the hotel was not as contemporary as you would usually choose, we won you over on location, and facilities. We do actually get quite a few children enjoying our hotel with their parents or grandparents. These future guests, really love the chandeliers and general olde world atmosphere. Being across the... Wow! A classic from the past. No stainless steel & glass, just the warmth of wood of a former era updated into a wonderful place. Very spacious rooms, lovely baths, large and inviting public space, but more that the physical attractions, the staff and management really cares to make your stay here something very special. Excellent location near Opera House... More

Dear Valued Guest The Salt and Pepper Squid is delicious, as are the curry puffs and the chicken wings.... Brien the Bar Manager is recommending the Astrolabe rielsing to acommpany both. Also new in The Bar is Little Creatures Pale Ale - one of Australia's many boutique beers and NZ Montieths crushed apple cider.... very Autumn. The staff at any... More

My husband and I have stayed in at least 10 major 5 star hotels in Sydney and I can honestly say Sir Stamford is the best. Upon arrival we were given an automatic room upgrade!. It was offered to us we didn't have to ask for it. We were given room 905..... It was gorgeous and the verandah had unobstructed... More

Dear Valued Guests Lazy Daze is absolutely one of the most creative hotel packages in the world and is unique to all 8 of Stamnford hotels. Nothing quite compares to having a Chef prepare a dinner for two in your room - among other treats. Quay to Indulge and Celebration are also very popular. The view from our Terrace Rooms... More

I have read some reviews and can understand this hotel is not for all, but we find it charming and quirky and very comfortable. It is not as large or slick as most 5 star hotels, but it does offer a touch of luxury the huge places do not. The rooms are larger than normal, the breakfast is fine and... More

This hotel could not be in a better location, but is not 5 star. There is a distinct lack of staff, had to wait almost half an hour for simple breakfast. One person on check out, with 100 plus rooms results in queues. Bedrooms are very comfortable and well appointed, which with the location could be a hotel I would... More

Dear Valued Guests Thank you for your excellent location review - being 5 star is not just about the physical aspects of a property - it is indeed about the quality of staff. Our stay at Sir Stamford was for 4 nights and it was great. We had great proximity to the Opera House and the Botanic Gardens. The breakfast was delicious though it wasn't free with the room. We got a two for one special deal which helped with the pricey food. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean.... More
