I found th Russell quite by accident, and what a find it was a an old building refurbed to a quaint hotel, very friendly staff, clean rooms, tiny beds!!! lovely breakfast room and location right in The Rocks, so easy walking to all the sights, great cafes, pubs and restaurants abound, as well as galleries

We stayed here for 2 nights. Its ideally located for exploring the old part of Sydney. Of course, it is on George Street. the oldest street in Australia.

I loved the location and the history of the place. Room was well appointed and clean. Nice terrace. But the energy was off and I just did not feel the price was worth it. Aloof service. We are going back to Sydney and staying elsewhere.

I will admit that I am heavily biased to a good location and it's hard to beat this hotel's. But it is a quaint hotel - that means older. Our room was ok in size and the floor squeaked like crazy...but I'd stay here again. It is pricey so it's not a value hotel. Breakfast's were good.
