The Highfield hotel is not as bad as some of the reviews here want you to believe. At least it is safe and clean during my visit . But what else do you need when in a city like Sydney ?. But you can find cheaper places in the same street with better quality.

The accommodation is old and just has the basic amenities. Dirty stairways are infested with dead bugs. Heater is almost non existent during winter. The only positives are the excellent location and basic breakfast.

Only 2 positives: The staff was very nice, very polite and the linens were clean. That's it!
