The hotel reception, staff and the cleaners were just magnificent. They were always so friendly and helpful. This hotel is budget and you get what you pay for. The rooms are well kept and very clean. The same goes for the shared bathrooms. Position wise, the hotel is located well. A very short walk to woolworths shoping, close to the... More

I stayed on the top floor - I think room 24 in a premium double and it was old but nicely set up. The bathroom was right next door and always available when I needed it - not sure if that would be the case in busy times. I was not in the room for long but it's a great... More

we stayed in the double bedroom for 4 nites here. the room and bed are clean. Towels provided. Heater also provided since our room is very cold. The lighting is too dim. Small kitchenette and microwave, toaster, kettle and cups, bowl, plate are a plus. Bathroom is small. Would like to suggest the owner to provide shower accessories for guest... More

Staff are great, friendly and able to help with bus routes and places to visit. Not really a backpackers setting though, but what you get is privacy and peace which noisy backpackers can't offer you this. Price is great for such place. Room comes with a small kitchen, great!!! I love the location, quite a bit of walk from the... More

Note that you really do share a bathroom at the end of the hall. But even when the hotel was completely booked, I never ran into anyone else wanting the shower at the same time. There aren't many units on each floor. They're clean, if a bit old. But the entrance has cool, old-world character. And I liked the location--central,... More

we were lucky and got a double room with an ensuite bathroom. the staff was really nice, the room was tiny, but that's what you have to expect for little money. (we booked the room last minute) nevertheless: everything was really neat and tidy, we had a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle in the room which was... More

Had a three night stay was not looking for flash but just comfortable and good location. The Macleay Lodge covered most of this, but also was a let down too. Rooms very basic, very noisy with building works going on that started at about 7am every morning. Staff were good and location good, but will be looking for far better... More

I did quite a lot of research on the best place to stay for the one night my partner and I were in Sydney and thought from the reviews on Trip Advisor and the photos on their website that this would be a reasonably nice (but basic) place to stay. When we got into our room at about 1pm we... More

If your on a tight budget and have left it late to find accommodation this place does the job, however if you plan ahead you can definitely find better options in the CBD with better facilities
