Great location for walk to qpac and dining variety in west end The rooms have real old style character and a beer on the verandah overlooking the city is most relaxing I think this place is a real find for someone wanting to do a night at qpac or a day at the GABba which is also very close I... This place was an amazing find. For the first time during our 3-week holiday in Australia, an accommodation was actually SUPERIOR to the Internet photos! If you like 100-year-old fully restored Victorian structures, wrap-around verandas with views, Hawaiian-style vegetation, gurgling fountains tucked away everywhere, tropical birds chirping in surround-sound, a huge kitchen for your personal use, claw-footed soaking tubs, this... Franklin Villa is very well located and the communal guest facilities (kitchen, lounge, billiard room, verandahs, outdoor areas, lap pool) are excellent. The decor is amazing, an eclectic mix of furnishings art and memorabilia harking back to the colonial era with touches of the British Empire and Royalty and fascinating history of colonial era Brisbane and the early development and... Stayed overnight for business in the city, was a very well priced, very reasonable establishment. Well appointed, easy access, good for families, good for the lone traveller. Great views of the city, 5 min stroll from the cafes and reasonable priced restaurants down the road. 5 min cab ride to the city. Very happy with my choice, very happy with... More

We wanted somewhere for a romantic evening and, as locals, didn't want to travel far. Being fans of older, period properties, we chose Franklin Villa. We found it to be lovingly restored, spotlessly clean, with generous guest areas: verandas with great views, lap pool, big equipped kitchen, guest lounge with free internet and billiard room. We stayed in the Blue... More

Part of Brisbane history. Can't think of a better way to sink yourself into the city. Bring a bottle of vino and sit on the balcony and take in the city lights.

I was so, so sad to leave this beautiful house that had become my home for a week while staying in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed there and I was so pleased I did!! The house is amazingly beautiful with exceptional views of the city and surrounding mountains. My bed... More

This is simply the best house I have ever seen. The place is full of character and charm. The owners were extremely friendly and hospitable and were eager to make our stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible. It is like stepping back in time and living in a long forgotten colonial world. The place was absolutely spotlessly clean, with... More

This hotel looks amazing on the website. It is a restored 100+ year old villa with heaps of character. This is partly true. The rooms are full of interesting art, memorabilia and furniture. There was a good kitchen facility. It is quaint but it does have some shortcomings which make it a little disappointing. There is no telephone available for... More

The previous review says it all. An extra plus is that the location is within walking distance of the local eateries.
