As other people have mentioned, YES; this place is verrrrry loud at night. But that said, if you like to get amongst the party and dont plan on sleeping til after 3am anyway this will not be a problem for you. The rooms are OKAY, nothing amazing but not particularly bad either. Just 'okay'. One plus is that it's very... More

We stayed here for one night. No on site manager when you need him/her, pointless when you're locked out of your room at midnight and he doesn't return til 2am. Drunks lying in reception, common area disgusting with empty bottles, food and spilt drinks on the floor. In the morning expect to wait in a que just to brush your... More

We arrived at Prince Consort after we landed in Australia for the first time. In the time between landing and finding our real apartment, we needed a place to stay. Prince Consort Backpackers was the perfect fit: cheap, friendly, helpful and locally placed just outside central Brisbane. Students, backpackers or anybody else looking for a stayover with friendly vibes, free... More

Noisy, expensive, and kept in only mediocre fashion, the backpackers leaves much to be desired. During the week I was there, the music played on until late in the night from down below, and individual converstions could be made out. For the cost of the single room, it would have been better to stay at the more expensive hotels in... More

No joking, if you posted a good review you have to show it to the staff, and then they give you free internet. There are actually notes in the computer area with this message on it! So don't trust all these good reviews, they are very misleading and attracted me to this hostel for the wrong reasons. The only nice... More

The Prince Consort is a no-frills backpackers with superb location and great service. They are very up-front about the type of experience they provide which is very refreshing. The service staff are very friendly and very good with information. The bed was very comfy and the room was near sound-proof. There was a huge drinking party happening next to my... More

We arrived earlier that check in but were able to check in early and given clean linen. There is a large kitchen area with lots of shelf and fridge room. A large social area with T.V although when we stayed it was quite and not many people around. More

When we first arrived in the evening we had to call the manager out to let us in as the reception closed at 8pm (we arrived at 8.02pm) She seemed a bit annoyed to be dealing with us but took us upstairs and showed us to our dorm (8 bed). The room was clean enough and there was only one... More

Having been to many hostels, I would still say this was my worst experience ever. The location is great if you are planning to go out at night as we were. However, everything else is not good. The entire hallway smelled of B.O. and feet. The carpets were disgustingly dirty. Like seriously gross. And, after setting our things down on... More

Having recently returned from our world trip, here is our review for this accommodation. We arrived at this place and were a bit disappointed. It was shabby and the area is not great either. The beers in the pub below were extortionate and did not offer discounts for residents! Our room was ok, we stayed one night and were pleased... More
