I wasn't going to review this place as I could see how hard the guy was working to keep everything running, however, having stayed in other places now that charge the same amount for a private double we can see just how over-priced this place was. A very small and not overly clean room with air-con was provided. The communal... More

We only stayed here as a stop over for Airlie Beach. It's a long way from the hostel to the bus stop and arriving in the middle of the night we had no shuttle service. A fair walk still to the centre of town too, although we didn't explore much, there really isn't much worth doing in Rockhampton, I would... More

I'm currently laying on a bed in the hostel as I right this. The room is only being used as a stop-over for an Airlie Beach to Rainbow Beach drive so thought the cheaper the better. And cheap it is, it's like being in student accommodation. The showers are nice and clean and the kitchen is good as well. My... More

For a YHA in Australia this is very poor standard. One of the first hostels we stayed in Oz we were really disappointed. We also got stuck here for an extra 2 days because of the queensland flooding, and I think the staff were overwhelmed by the support they had to give those staying there. The guy was very good... A basic hostel with a lot of workers staying there. Clean and comfortable and fairly close to shops. Stayed in a double which had enough space. Bathrooms and kitchen was clean. Plenty of utensils aswell so not struggling to make dinner. Has a small pool but did not get to use it. No Wifi and there pcs were slow and... More

Stopped here for 1 night on my roadtrip north. As others have mentioned, it's not much to look at when you first arrive, but the staff are friendly, and the dorms were clean and comfortable. I stayed in a 4 bed girls only dorm and there was adequate room, just need a few more power outlets. Bathroom was also clean,... More

I stayed there for only one night, but had a good time : what was really great was the welcoming reception. My advice : have a car. The plus : peaceful, not noisy great reception free pick-up from the Greyhound bus station clean bathrooms free parking lot The minus : the location (far from the city centre, the botanic gardens...)... Stayed here for 5 nights, it doesn't look great as you approach it from the road but the communal areas are quite well laid out and nice. Kitchen is large but it's struggle for fridge space, dining area nice and a good tv room. I had a 6 bed dorm which was a good size but if your after storage... More

We booked a double room and got a nice cabin! The service is very good, the staff is very friendly. We got a pickup from the Greyhound stop. The location of the hostel is not great. It's a 15 minute walk to the shopping mall (the nearest shops) and 15 minute in the other direction to the town center. They... More

A very friendly place this is. And not big. And there is no way people bump in to eachother while cooking, because this place has a kitchen you sometimes find in places with three times the amount of beds. The place is friendly because of the managers and the service. They pick you up and bring you to the train... More
