Located right next door to the Grand Chifley, we jokingly referred to our hotel as the Lesser Chifley. That's a little harsh since the staff was great and we did enjoy our stay. “Adequate hotel, very noisy room”

Despite comments that this hotel had been refreshed, I did not experience what I would consider to be a renovated room. The bathroom in particular looked like it was from the 80s. This review is for the Chifley on South Terrace, not the Grand Chifley, which is about half a block away and much nicer. Being located on South Terrace, the Chifley is at the edge of the CBD but within walking distance to the bars and restaurants on Gouger St or a short tram trip to the centre of town. Great Location, Great City, great views - lousy hotel. I have just spent a night in an overpriced out dated hotel - Chifley on South Terrace.
