Loved the hotel rooms themselves. Industrial style, and quite spacious. Our windows seemed to look almost directly into someone else's windows though, across a little alleyway. Pool was different, freezing cold a but had to try! Front end was overlooking some workers at a construction site. Bits it looked rusted and not the cleanest. Also creaked quite a bit, so... More

Dear Amy T, Firstly thank you for your recent review on your stay with us here at Adelphi. I was pleased to see that overall you seemed happy and positive about your stay. As we are an inner city lane way hotel the views from the rooms can sometimes be limited. Although we defiantly feel that the location of our... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in April 2012. The location is close to everything. The service was very good, though minimalist, like everything else. The same person who does the reception, also does the drinks and waiter-service. This is a no-fuss, bare basics hotel. It has everything you need, but don't expect any extras. I agree with earlier reviewer that... More

Dear flaming_lamborghini, Thank you for your recent review on you stay here at the Adelphi Hotel. It was nice to receive your comments on your experience of the hotel. As the hotel is located in Flinders lane and a stones throw from the CBD, public transport and attractions we too feel that the hotel is in an ideal location. You... More

Stayed here recently, staff were fine, location great... but decor... minimalist is putting it mildly.Room was clean. The premier room had a comfy bed... but the room only one chair.... very poor lighting in the bathroom for hair styling and make up application, the only mirror ( the whole wall) was in the bathroom. The most disappointing part was the noise... More

This hotel may have been cool once but now it feels more like an overpriced backpackers. It is not good value for money. We paid $240 which was a ‘special’. Maybe worth $140. This really is a ‘bare bones’ hotel. While it may have been minimalist cool in its day it now just feels bare and unloved. The paint is... More

I stayed in the deluxe studio, service was average but the hotel was great, very modern with a boutique style lobby. No concierge to carry your luggage to your room but the rooms are great. Excellent lap pool.

In summary - a comfortable hotel in a great location. It was a little noisy and it looks like it's due for an update. In detail - we had an enjoyable Saturday night stay at the Adelphi. We had a pleasant surprise at check in as we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. The suite was large... More

The first experience I had with this hotel was mediocre at best, I had trouble with checking out and my money not getting released for more than a week! I decided to give the hotel another try last week for mine and my boyfriends anniversary and I must say it was more horrible than the first stay! The noise was... More

As a Melbournian now living in Sydney I know the Adelhpi well. Ezard's still amazing but the hotel rooms need a serious update. Not worth what I paid. So dated with fuzzy TV channels, could hear everything in the next room and poor lighting. Please give what once was an icon an upgrade.

The web site warns of the building site across the road and it is on a large scale but this isn't really the place where you come for lie ins' anyway! We stayed 2 nts, mid-week, not sure of noise at weekend. It is a fantastic location and a short walk will bring you to most Melbourne has to offer.... More

Stayed here on my wedding night 9 years ago. Not one thing had changed about the decor. Sparse and minimalist. Same quality of furnishings experienced in staying in youth hostels in europe on stag dos. No art work and dark, metallic walls along the corridors. Dear Nagasaki74, Thankyou for your feedback regarding your recent experience at Adelphi. I sincerely apologise we did not live up to your expectations this time around. Yes our design is minamilist and it does not appeal to all tastes, however many of our guests particularly like the bathrooms including the washbasins you mention. Whilst our Fitness room is small, it... More
