This hotel is in a great location (I went to the footy at Docklands). An old building but kept in a good condition. Rooms are cheap and clean. If you don't care about posh fittings and presentation then this is the place for you - especially if you want to save some money. u

Door in the bathroom was broken and not fixed, cleaning lady just fixed the beds and failed to clean the surfaces in bathroom and table in the room, next day no one cared to fix beds and clean a room at all! This hotel scores highly on location. Our room (1st floor) was small and lacking in storage (plenty of hanging space but no shelves). Room a bit pokey and colour scheme through-out a bit over the top. Room was comfortable and desk staff helpful. Good position for that side of town, e.g. Docklands, Casino, Southwharf, DFO. Would stay again.

Our stay at the Ibis Kingsgate was excellent. Perfect location. Outstanding service by the front desk. i travelled with my elderly parents ( 93 and 77 yo ) . Couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was basic, but adequate. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Very small rooms, cheap. you get what you pay for. I would not recommend the hotel; although easy access to reach the northern side of Melbourne. there are much nicer places to stay for a little extra $.

We stayed in a ground floor room, very noisy - all night! Apparently there is a club on the block behind! We heard every creak in the plumbing, people moving around upstairs and others coming home right through the night, the last crowd came in about 6.00am! “Reasonable hotel near Spencer street station”

Booked a family room for 4 pax. Near Spencer street station which made it convenient when arriving by Skybus from the airport. The building was rather old but kept in good condition. Overall, value for money if staying with a group of four.

The true advantage of this hotel is its location and that is what you pay for in fact. The rooms are quite small but if you are traveling light it works out fine. Restricted Wi-fi internet access, so do not count on it.
