I stayed at the Windsor in a superior room, on a business trip. The room was clean but on the small side. You do not come to the Windsor if you are looking for a modern hotel. The atmosphere here is old world charm and gracious. The check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The bathroom was very clean and my... More

Very Nice hotel at good location. Near to parliament house and many offices. Lift, furniture everything look quiet antique, I believe this must be amongst oldest hotel in town. Everything is well maintained, staff is very friendly. The Gentlemen at door as quiet old & friendly, always greet with big smile. Rooms are clean & reasonably spaces & modern.

A birthday needs a celebration so a night in town sounded good. Looking for more than "a hotel" we chose The Windsor and were well rewarded. First impressions linger and the friendly welcome from the concierge and reception was a perfect start. One must accept this hotel for what it is and embrace its history and architecture while at the... More

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon to be greeted by a crowded lobby of 'chatty' people who were saying their goodbyes after what seemed to be an enjoyable experience in the Tea Room - something (we read) for which The Windsor has been recognised for 130yrs. Our welcome was polite and cordial. Ascending the Grand Staircase we reached our room -... More

We stay only 1 night for the moonlight musical and love the location. Also they were kind enought to let us check in at 10 am. In the room we feel we are at home and also breakfast was top in the town we believe. Close to CBD activities either tram or just walk.

Six of us travelling from Perth were treated to High Tea at The Windsor. What a lovely civilised way to spend an afternoon! Food was delightful, sweets were to die for, there were both traditional and different teas, the staff looked after us and the pianist in the background entertained us. I've enjoyed High Tea at The Ritz in London... More

Some people seem to not understand the historic wonders of this five star hotel. The Windsor is Melbourne's most beautiful heritage hotel and if the walls could talk they would tell wonderful tales of world leaders and famous Australians gracings the hotel's lovely rooms. The suites are one of the most superb experiences you could envisage for less than you... More

Dear Wattaworld, Thank you for taking the time to review The Hotel Windsor, it is greatly appreciated. Melbourne's historic Hotel Windsor this December will be celebrating it's 130th year and it is wonderful to hear that after all this time we are still delivering exceptional service. Yes, our hotel is not "modern" but what we do offer is a professional,... More

I always find Heritage Hotels a little more difficult to review. On one hand you have the history of the place yet in today`s standards they seem to lack a little for the price charged. Service is wonderful, just as you`d hope for and expect. The restaurant was excellent both for dinner and a top breakfast! Now to the rooms,... More

I Agree totally with Ann R, this was very disappointing. We stayed 2 nights and within the first 24 hrs we moved rooms 3 times. The first was because the room had just been painted & it smelt awful! The second time was because the bathroom (which is old and distasteful) bath did not drain. The service was no where... More

Dear Bradley B, Thank you for posting your review of your recent stay with us. As mentioned previously to you to be relocated three times during a stay is simply not good enough and does not meet the high standards we set ourselves each and every day. The Hotel Windsor takes all feedback very seriously and I can assure you... More

We had a deluxe king room, while it was nice it definitely didn't match the photos. The view over the apartments in the back street was less than ideal, and considering the $ we paid disappointing. The bathroom was not up to standard, I understand it is old but the grout was chipped away and mould in the shower, the... More
