I guess this really is a case of you get what you pay for! Tiny rooms - not much bigger than the bed in it, limited staff access, extra payments, parking down the street. Rooms were clean but cramped. I would hate to stay here if you had the maximum permissible people.
This place was by far the best price I could get to sleep a family of 4 in central Melbourne. $179 p/n for 3 nights for 4 people. Good location, about a block and a half to Swanston St.
I understand that this was formally Mayflower On Lonsdale. No reception desk, instead you are met by someone who shows you...

Was taken aback by being asked to pay for room in cash. However, my refusal and credit card were accepted. I had booked a 2 B/R apartment. Bedrooms extremely tiny and had no windows. It felt like you were sleeping in a cupboard. Not enough room to move bed from wall, hence sheet all tucked in one side of the...

We stayed at Mayflower in January and were absolutley shocked at the absolute poor quality of this hotel. Firstly we were put into a tail spin when the lady at the front desk wanted me to pay CASH up front for our 3 night stay. I asked to use my card and was told the machine was broken. I said...

Sofa was very dirty and stained and beds are a piece of chip board with a mattress on top.Ridiculous!!!First and last time we stay here.

Melbourne winter is COLD and a thin synthetic blanket and sheet are NOT enough. We stayed here with our two kids for one night. It was not expensive but it wasn't a great bargain either....

I have stayed at the Mayflower on two occasions and have found it to be fine. I am unsure of what others expect for the price and the star rating. A lot of the gripes that people seem to have (such as no phone and no parking) are advertised on the website. As for the smell of Asian food. I...

Our 2-bedroom apartment was tiny, the main bedroom was just big enough for the bed, no side tables and no curtains to block the morning light! There was a group of Chinese students living in the apartment next to ours so our room constantly smelt of their cooking (unpleasant odours). At least we had a balcony with decent views and...

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was really basic, we were only there to sleep, thank god, because you could not sit in the room for a nice dinner or chat, way too small. The location was good, not too central but close to trams and walking distance to good shops and places to eat. The rooms were...
