Tairoa Lodge gave me a warm, inviting and relaxing environment in which to stay while attending a BPWNZ conference hosted by the Hawera Club. I wanted to treat myself to a special environment and that is exactly what Tairoa was. From the moment that we arrived Linda was concerned with our well being and comfort - a tray of freshly... More

When looking for accommodation in Hawera it was all a bit grim until we came across Tairoa Lodge. We had a brief one night stay here in the lodge and were very impressed. Wished we were staying longer! Beautifully decorated rooms, fantastic service and lovely grounds. Great attention to detail. We came down to a beautiful continental breakfast in the... More

My friend Jan and myself have just had a lovely few nights at Tairoa Lodge during the Powerco Tarankai Garden Festival. We were delighted with our accommodation which was extremely comfortable and clean - lovely linen and very cosy. Linda our host was fantastic and very hospitable and made our stay really relaxing. We would highly recommend Tairoa Lodge and... More

We needed to stay in Hawera for two nights and my memory of Hawera as a cold and damp town, with evening chill that permeates to the bones, meant that we did not look forward to being there. However, we discovered Tairoa Lodge on Trip Advisor and booked into the Isaac Bayly Suite. On arrival we took the option of... More

What a lovely place to arrive at, after a busy day. From afternoon tea on the terrace to a most delicious breakfast in the beautiful dining room, the hospitality was warm and discreet. I really enjoyed reading about some of the history and restoration of this lovely home. My stay in the Isaac Bayly Suite was most comfortable and I... More

The weather was awful but cosy fires greeted us in the lounge and in the dining room and our bedroom was warm and luxurious. We stayed in the Lovell Suite for our belated 10th anniversary and it made it feel very special. The house and gardens are elegant and spacious. For our celebration we sipped bubbles and ate a perfect... More

Being only about 4 hours of interesting driving from Wellington, and throwing in a visit to Whanganui, it was a great pleasure to stay in Tairoa Lodge. The Isaac Bayly suite with en suite, was warm and comfortable with a great balcony for the friendly host, Linda, to provide a welcoming afternoon tea. Guest lounge with open fire and stately... More

A little bit of a challenge to find on the way into Hawera, and an adventurous little drive into the parking area, but a very warm and friendly welcome awaited. A beautifully (if slightly over) restored build with nice gardens. Excellent indulgent service, with tea on arrival served in the lounge with all the trimming. Breakfast was everything you could... I really enjoyed my stay at Tairoa Lodge. The best part about the stay was the wonderfully warm and inviting hosts! I was travelling on my own so Linda kindly invited me for cocktails to meet her friends. The home and the surrounding area is carefully and tastefully restored. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. I highly recommend this lodge... More

Whilst travelling throughout NZ for the rugby world cup we had the pleasure of staying at the Tairoa Lodge which is a beautiful house surrounded by well maintained gardens. Whilst the accommodation was not that close to the game in New Plymouth we could not fault Linda's hostessing skills. Linda attended to all our needs and provided a delicious breakfast.... More
