but pity about the accommodation!! had gone for a winter weekend getaway but couldnt wait to get back to the luxury of home. very run down units -old and tired-thank god there was a full size oven in the room as we used it to heat the room as there was only a 5 fin oil heater which had seen... Stayed here 1 night good average accomodation. Best value we found in town if you don't mind not having one of the front view rooms. Great location opposite bay with short walk to main street and wharf. Staff very friendly and they allowed us to keep our car parked on site whilst doing a bay cruise after we had booked... More

We stayed here for 2 nights during May, the off season. We were offered half price on the second night. The room was comfortable and looked out over the Bay. Owners were friendly and helpful. recomend this place. More

We found this lodge by chance. Owner of the lodge is friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 2 nights. Think is off peak season, so we got a good deal - second night half price. They also helped us to book for the dune rider tour the next day and managed to get a 10% discount for us. Our... More

The price we paid was significantly less than other places with similar accommodation and location in Paihia. Our rooms overlooked the bay and even though the road ran in front of the lodge it was not noisy at all. We had a well equipped kitchenette, spacious bathroom, separate bedroom and small lounge, as we were on the ground floor we... More

We booked in for 3 nights and stayed for 1 as the traffic noise was horrendous and we got no sleep whatsoever. It was a hot night but with no air conditioning or ceiling fans (and no portable fans) we had no option but to have the windows open. The manager was unsympathetic the next morning saying "It was Waitangi... More

We have since closed these units as they are, indeed tired and old; our land lord refuses to do anything about this, so they are now closed. More

On arrival we were put in the older units at the back, these are in a sorry state, having dreadful shower and toilet facilities and the lounge and bedrooms requiring updating and redecorating. The front units are a little better, but I would still suggest they need redecorating. Positive point is the view from the front units, which looks across the bay... More

After staying at the unimpressive Bay of Islands resort for a couple of days, it was a pleasant upgrade moving to the Abel Tasman. The owners are extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly and nothing feels like too much trouble to them. The location couldn't be any better and we were quite happy with the rooms we stayed in. They were... More

This Motel has some old tired 1970's units up the steep drive at the back. Avoid these at all costs. The beds are OK but the bathroom facilities were built by the worst example of a "do it yourself handy man". The dunny is so small that - 1). You cannot shut the door unless you straddle the toilet bowl... More
