A short walk out of town center- the Acapulco is model of the roadside motor inn. You drive in and park in the space in front of your unit- there is a outside table and chairs waiting for you. The familiy that manages the property takes proper care of getting you settled and guiding you to the activities in town.... More

Great hosts, lovely spacious rooms and awesome whirlpool spa bath with radio and coloured lights. Comfortable bed so had a good night's sleep. It was a pity I had to enjoy it on my own as my partner couldn't come with me at the last moment.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. We had a large, well-appointed clean room with comfy beds and all mod cons. It was a quick and pleasant walk to the center of town, and the price was right. It was a block from Lake Taupo

We stayed at the Acapulco for 4nights on our visit to New Zealand.We had a 2 bedroom appartment and found the staff friendly, the room was clean ,comfortable, well equipped and within easy walking distance to the town centre.If we ever get the chance to visit Taupo again we would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Acapulco for 1 night on business in Nov 2011. The motel was close to the town centre and well priced for a large 1 bedroom. Free wifi and nice cooked breakfast. Leaky shower door which was fixed by the manager. No other issues.

Pros: 1. Walking distance to Taupo 2. Friendly owners 3. Very clean rooms 4. Very comfy beds 5. Kitchens were clean, with microwave, hotplate, dishes, and hot water boiler Cons 1.
