Taupo was our first stop in a five week trip of New Zealand and Eastern Australia, and Rangimarie and our hosts Joe and Meg were just delightful. The two guest rooms have sole access to the whole first floor main level which includes large living room, dining room and kitchen, along with outside deck overlooking the pool and hot tub... More

We stayed two nights and were really pleased with the welcome and the room. Joe and Meg were just great. The first night we were the only guests and had the common room to ourselves- honestly it took a bit of getting used to. We were a bit shy at first- kept thinking "this can't be all for us!" but... Joe and Meg were really friendly and helpful hosts and it was nice to meet a couple from Edinburgh in Taupo! My wife was not too well during our stay in Taupo and Joe and Meg were very considerate and did their best to provide us with low-impact activity ideas and also provided us with some sight-seeing advice for our... We stayed at Rangimarie for two nights and had a very pleasant stay. Our en-suite room was comfortable (although not large) and the bathroom tidy and clean. The (solar powered) hot water system must be a long way from the bathroom so be prepared to wait a while for hot water in the shower! The real plus was having access... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rangimarie on November 20th. The house is beautiful, homely but immaculate, with native wooden floors. Although centrally located, the property still enjoys splendid views over lake Taupo. My husband even had a swim in the pool. Joe's welcome was second to none and his thoughtfulness much appreciated. We would highly recommend this B&B for... More

It's my first time ever staying at a B&B so I am a bit skeptic. But Joe and Meg did make this a wonderful experience and I would love to start choosing B&B more often. As some visitors already stated, the house is very spacious, especially the living room and dinning area. There's also a study den with a Mac... More

We stayed at the Rangimarie Guest house in August for three nights and were greeted by the delightful hosts Joe & Meg. The guest house was clean, very comfortable and spacious with a terrific view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. A short walk to the Centre of Town where you find a good selection of restaurants to meet... More

Stayed in May 2011 but only just started writing on TA. This has to be the nicest place we've ever stayed at. I'm generally not a fan of B&Bs as feel like intruding in someone else's house but the layout here is perfect. Guests have the top floor, with only two guest rooms, the rooms are very big with TV... What a treat to stay here! The B&B is gorgeous and is about a 10 minute walk into lovely Taupo town. We had the entire upstairs of a house, since the Owners live downstairs. Joe & Meg were absolutely delightful hosts. We also enjoyed being able to have a soak in the hot tub or dip in the pool while... More

Joe taught science in Edinburgh, and while on a teacher exchange in New Zealand decided he had to live there. He was an admirable host for our two days at Lake Taupo, full of helpful guidance as to the best things to do and particular walks which we would enjoy. He has a scientist's and perhaps a residually teacherly interest... More
